I thought you couldn't trade without the National Pokedex, which you get after beating Black or White?

That's true if you're trading pokmeon from HG or SS, but you can trade from Black to White or vice versa after beating the first gym.

I did this on Pokemon Soul Silver on my current playthrough.

All my Pokemon were 45 (all 6 of them) when I took on Clarence (Dragon Gym).... I one hit all four of her dragons Laughing

Oh, can anyone trade with me when my Roggenrola evolves? Need someone to do a trade then trade back for me so I can get the final evolution Cool

Intricate procedures.

Nah, just got fossils of Aerodactyl, Lileep, Anorith, and Tirtouga in my last game, (and a Piloswine and Yanma)

Bred them each three times. Traded those eggs to another game for holding, then traded them back to my new game.

I like to use the gyms as training. Nobody else does that? If I beat it with a lower team I feel good about my team.

I think I might just buy Black and playthrough that to catch up to White then do some trades and try to fill out Pokedexs.

I feel like with Pokemon Black and White, it was designed to be a lot easier to train your pokemon - a lot more so than with other generations. The addition of the lucky egg was a huge help, and then you have the wild Audino's that give you a crazy amount of exp points.
