I have always wanted to go online with my DS and battle/trade with my Pokemon White/Diamond but it never ever works... Any suggestions to successfully do this? I would love to help with trades and the such with everyone on here!

Depends on if you have Diamond or Pearl. Because the answer would be yes.

I bought Platinum and played up to the 4th gym or so and I wasn't feeling it.

I bought Platinum and played up to the 4th gym or so and I wasn't feeling it. |
Silver is still my favorite because there's still so much to do after the E4. White is fun too. I haven't played Platinum, though. So I can't answer your question.

You need to set up your Wi-Fi Connection in the Internet Setting on your DS.

Gold/Silver is the bomb because after the Elite 4 it's like there's a whole game after except you already have your team.

I think I'll be starting a new game soon, gonna think out my lineup soon, want to use pkmn I usually don't get the chance to use.
EDIT: So I pretty much had my lineup but I can't get myself to play because I hate the story in BW, I think I'm gonna play Soul Silver or Heart Gold 
EDIT: Just remembered why I stopped playing SS, if I want the pkmn I want, they won't have their abilities
