I didn't see a Mexico soccer thread so I started this one
I was watching ESPNU today and I saw Mexico's U-17 team beat Germany 3-2 and now they are going to play in the championship in Estadio Azteca

Oh hell yeah bruh!
I see that there's quite a bit of Mexico fans here. They all came out of the woodwork in the GC final. I hope they continue to post here.

Only a 147 pages behind us
Kidding aside, it's really nice to see more threads springing up for various soccer related things. Hopefully we can get our own forum. _________________

VAMOS MEXICO! |
I just never post in the soccer forum
Who is your favorite players?
I liked Dos Santos since he was a kid and Rafa is my fav by far because of FIFA Wolrd Cup 2006
I think soccer should get it's forum but unfortunately soccer and hockey (along with like LaX and wrestling) are regional unlike football, baseball and basketball. I do really think the sport is going to grow in the US _________________
Drive off into the sunset, you brilliant bastard.
|

Because my family is from Mexico and America isn't half as passionate about futbol as Mexico is. Same reason why there are fans of sports outside of their markets. _________________
Drive off into the sunset, you brilliant bastard.
|

This is certainly an ambitious thread On the subject of Mexican football though, I wonder what Spurs are going to do with Dos Santos? He was a pile when he attempted to play for us, he just isnt physically able to play in the EPL imo. I think we might offload him this summer to one of the Spanish teams or something. _________________

That seems to be the big rumor.
Lots of Mexican players going over seas to play. It's exciting. _________________

I hope we do cash in on him and get a few million because I dont think he will ever be a success at Spurs. _________________

I'm guessing most are American's of Mexican decent, as I am, and therefore they follow that team. Also as JustisM said, Mexicans and really just about any other nationality is more passionate about football than American's. _________________

Have you seen them play recently? Brink of becoming a Top 10 team, IMO. I don't care about stupid FIFA rankings.
As for people asking why Mexican Americans root for Mexico...because it's how they are brought up. Futbol is part of our culture, so obviously the parents pass it down to the children. There is nothing wrong with that.
Favorite player: Basically anyone who plays with Chivas or came from Chivas. IE: Chicharo. _________________

He had a really good season with Racing Santander last year. _________________
