Among the various options in between.

And where would you like to live in the future?

My wife and I are going to be buying a house in two years if things go well. She has grown up in the suburbs. I've grown up in small towns. She'd like to find a house in the city and I'd like to find a house in the country. We're constantly weighing the options and this is always on my mind, hence why I made the thread.

Lived in the country most of my life. Lived in the city for a year in NC. Lived in the poverty-stricken area of Kuwait City. Now I live in the suburbs of Manila. Hoping next will be a big city. Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, or Shanghai. We'll see.

Country.
Ive lived everywhere at some point. From Virginia USA to Sao Paulo Brazil and a dozen places in between.

Love having my own thing, doing my own thing the country provides. Embedding myself into the community, knowing everyone. Knowing people in every place I walk in.

City, just another grain of sand in the desert. Suburbs, just another cookie cutter lifestyle.
Country, No worries, no problems. Stop by, walk on in. The doors never locked. Doesnt need to be.

School around here is also top notch. Id feel I was the worst parent in the world if I dared send my kids to any city based school. No way, no how, would they ever be allowed near any school in any city in America.

Country. Never will live in a city. Living in the Twin Cities in college was never fun.

Depends on where you're at in your life and what your goals are. I lived in the City and the Suburbs. Your view/perception changes with different stages in life. Recently, bought a house in the suburbs and trying to start a family with the wife. It's nice having the peace and the quiet in the 'burbs. Ideally, do things in the city and then leave for home in the suburb or country.

Future Ideal place would be to get a house on Manhattan beach or Malibu.

Suburb. Lots of amenities within ~5 minutes. 20-30 minutes to downtown or airport.

Always lived in the suburbs of a large metropolitan city. Right now I live in the suburbs of DC. I love being close to everything and having any store I need within 10 mins of me. The schools are great in my area for my kids. I could never live in the country, I'd get too bored and I hate driving far to go somewhere.
