Big ups to the Scandinavian contingent. This forum, though about real football, opens my eyes even more to the reach of American football.

Umm ... Well like most English guys around here, Football is a culture where I am from. My Dad and his Dad went all over the place following United, and until I went to University in 2005, me and my Dad were similar but to a lesser extent (only ever went to 5 or so away games in the North each year).

Since I left for University and we didn't renew our season tickets, I get to less than 10 games a year (7 in all competitions last year). I love United, but my true passion is playing Football and that of course clashes with many of United's fixtures.

Living in the North West is great for being around fans of different teams, and I have nothing but respect for the likes of 91may who support their teams through thick and thin. Whilst I cannot relate to the extent of the pain they suffer at times, let me assure you that being a Broncos fan is far from the easy life of being a United fan ...

Damn right. Current holders of the North West Counties League Challenge Cup too, what an honour.

Welcome!

Out of interest, are you a Chelsea fan because of Essien? I think it is really cool when people follow a team because of their favourite nations players. I had a friend at Uni who was a huge Arsenal fan because he knew Kolo Toure's family. Not sure if he is still an Arsenal fan now though, haha.

Yes I am, Essien grew on me when I started watching because of the World Cup, also I'm part Ghanaian, along with part Kenyan and Ghana making that run in that world cup. McDonald Mariga and I follow him as well. Chelsea has a whole bunch of Africans so they always had a soft spot on me and I rooted for them. I also have the French but I don't want to be considered weak.

I have played/watch football my whole life... Played high school, and now playing in men leagues. Went to Germany for the World-Cup, but my dream is to watch my team (United) live at Old Trafford. I hope to make that dream come true when I'm finish with school in about 2 years.

Favorite Club: Barcelona
Favorite Country: USA
Favorite Player: Mario Balotelli
All-Time Favorite Player: Zinedine Zidane
Favorite Number: 5. Wore it for at least 7 years when I played baseball. No idea why though...

Other Stuff: Got back into soccer two years ago and said I'd like whatever team won the first game I watched. I think it was Barcelona/Stuttgart from Champions League 2 years ago. Barcelona won and here I am. Outside of Barcelona I don't have a team I follow, though if I HAD to pick, I'd probably say Manchester United just because two kids I grew up with like soccer too and they're Man U fans and I guess it rubbed off on me a little lol. I'm also partial to the Spanish National team since it's basically Barcelona's starting 11. Smile I'm a rational fan and will easily say it annoys me to end when some of our team dives way too much and I would despise Busquets if he wasn't such a key part of our midfield.

Oh, and when I type too fast, I end up spelling two letter words backwards. Like I'll put fi eh instead of if he and stuff like that. You'll eventually just come to accept it.

What you Saying? What can I say.... Life, I'm in it for the Lulz. I'll probably be moving to Orange County in a year or so to support my cousin through USC's film grad program, and taking up any acting opportunities on the way.. Until then I plan on partying like I did on the night Arsenal beat Barca in the UCL Round of 16 1st leg.

I played soccer through my youth but not in high school, walked on to a Jr. College team a few years back. Now I make my trade in adult mens/adult co-ed Indoor leagues. I'm a goalkeeper as was my dad, who held the record for most clean-sheets throughout his college career at Towson U. (22), the record was eventually broken by Zach Thorton, who plays in the MLS.

Feel free to follow me on Twitter @MikeyDarkLine (I tweet a lot, be warned) or on Facebook which I use less often these days Facebook.com/mikeydarkline

I like Real Madrid because I was terrible in FIFA 08 when I played and used Real Madrid because Iker Casillas is so good. Stuck with them since.
