I'm been really losing interest in football over the last couple of seasons, and I've gotten to the point where I want to make soccer my primary sport to follow. I've played soccer my entire love but don't have any strong ties to a particular club which is why I have never committed to following closely. I'm trying to change that, so convince me why I should support your club!

Things I am looking for:

1. must be easy to follow in the US (WatchESPN.com), so probably one of the bigger EPL clubs
2. must have a decent following on FF for discussion, so again probably one of the bigger clubs
3. must be a club that has a good reputation and isn't riddled with continuous controversy/scandal (see: Minnesota Vikings)
4. should be an active club that isn't afraid of making moves or starting young/unproven players
5. I only speak English, so it should probably be an English team or a team that broadcasts all games in English.

I'm also just looking to learn more about different teams, so just tell me about your team.

Not my team but go Everton. They play youth, have a great young manager, exciting to watch and aren't a boring spend millions of pounds every summer type club. Dat Ross Barkley too.

My team are too crap, Everton would be who I'd pick if I had a 'do-over'.

Everton don't have a huge FF following (2 members?). By all those criteria it's definitely Arsenal, depends on if you like being a contrarian or not, if you do then don't go Arsenal.

If a following on FF is a big deal to you, I would watch the games for these four teams

1. Arsenal
2. Chelsea
3. Liverpool
4. Manchester United
5. Tottenham

All four as you can see by the version of team thread, those teams have active fans that discuss every game and major transfers. Since you put big moves as well as young players, all four make transfer splashes for sure. However, for youth players I would say Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United (especially now) usually put a lot more faith in their youngsters than Chelsea does.

Best advice is watch a couple games of each of the four teams and see which club fits you the best. Each are different in terms of history, their spending power and personalities on the team. The worst thing is to pick a team and then start watching. Always watch and then pick a team that fits you.

And maybe while watching games, you might find a smaller club that fits you more than these ones.

Edit: Forgot Kempus Hotspurs. Not as active anymore but it is on version three so there is a lot of talk.

Pick Barca. It's the right decision.

You are forgetting the team that is currently 2nd in the Premier League, who has one of the youngest cores in the Premier League.

If you're dead set on picking a bigger English club I'd probably choose between Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal. All three have some exciting young players, money to spend, play pretty attractive football (getting ready for the Chelsea jokes but this season we have been a very entertaining side to watch) and will be around for a title challenge when the seasons running down. Obviously I think you should pick Chelsea though and definitely not Arsenal. We have too many gooners as it is. Laughing

Everton also has a great coach, though he may not be there for a few seasons longer.

lol the pep guardiola award sig kills me every time for some reason.

whoever did the sigs for the awards was one cheeky kent. all of them make me laugh in some way.

as far as the question, i always kind of think watching the games for awhile will help you decide. EPL is obviously on all the time on US channels, you've got champions league and europa league going on right now, so it's the perfect time.
