I'm thinking about getting Verizon Fios because I hear thats best for gaming. Been dealing with Comcast but suddenly I'm experiencing lag. Not so much me but people I play against and its a coin flip when it comes to games like Call of Duty. Not terrible but definately not smooth all the way thru.
Curious what your experiences are and what you think provides the best for online gaming |

AT&T internet. It works well and you can add it on to your phone bill (assuming AT&T is your provider). Best internet I've used. Had Comcast and some other brands and none compare. I'm sure there are other good ones out there though... _________________

I have the fastest internet that ATT provides for my area, its 7 down/1 up, but functionally I get like 5.5 down and .75 up. Not exactly fast, but I do okay for gaming. _________________

Be careful with Comcast, they have a data cap. Gets real expensive if you go over. Plus Comcast is an evil, evil, empire.
FiOS would be a lot better for gaming. It's a dedicated connection, as where Comcast is shared with the whole neighborhood.
I have Qwest DSL 40 down, 5 up. Works for everything. It's good as long as I don't need anything from them, or need to make changes. _________________

Fios. I freaking love their internet. Thinking about switching to their new quantum internet. Not sure though. Haven't really looked into the pricing enough. _________________

ATT is also capped at 150 GB per month, its $10 for another 50 GB, which I almost always end up paying (sometimes I go over 200 GB also, which is another $10). _________________

Brighthouse (orlando area name for timewarner). I think I get something like 10mbps down, 1 mbps up.
It's not the greatest but it's the best option I have available down here (company wise, I can get higher speeds but it's not so much the speeds but the reliability). Wish they offered Verizon FiOS in Orlando.. or that new Google gigabit network. so jealous! _________________

Don't have cable.
In my area, Charter cable is really unreliable. Service is out all the time.
I currently have DSL. It is provided by CenturyLink. Paying for 8-10 Mbps, but of course you never get more than 8-8.5 mbps. Reliability is awesome though. I've been a customer for about 7 years and I think my DSL has gone out only ONCE during that time. Simply amazing. _________________

I could never deal with a data cap. If my ISP put one on, I'd have new service the next day. _________________

Yeah, I think its one of the worst things they can do to their customers, if I had the power to change it right now I would. _________________
