What am I missing here?

They produce their songs (or does Khaled even produce all of his?) and put their names on it. Every song has a producer. Why do these guys attach their name to it like they're one of the artists on it? I assume something is different, I just have no idea.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Somebody else sings and then all of a sudden the song is by David Guetta.

So by your logic the only person who should receive credit for a song is the vocalist.

Hes just saying you dont see every dj or producer put their name on every song. ex) its not cinderalla man by juss blaze ft eminem

You also dont see pharrells attached to every song he's ever produced.

Exactly.

Zedd f/ Hayley Williams - Stay The Night
vs.
Hayley Williams - Stay The Night (prod. by Zedd)

Pretty much everybody does it like the latter.

Well as far as the Euro style DJs like Guetta, Calvin Harris etc I can see why, most of the songs are like two stanzas tops and the music is equally or more important than the lyrics.

If it is important, why do they insist on making it (deleted originally used word) so bad?

I've always wondered why more don't. There are so many songs by singers I don't like that I think are great strictly because of instrumentals.
