man, i hope so. it would be nice to quiet the critics who say brady hoke can't win head to head battles by beating nick saban for a recruit.
if they could somehow pull treadwell and green to finish the class, i'd be happy if they stopped there. |
Well those people would be wrong. Poggi would be at least the 4th commit we have beaten Alabama for this cycle (Dawson, LTT, Bosch, Shane Morris also has an Alabama offer, but I don't really count that as a H2H victory for various reason). |
only right after Marquise Maze and Dee Hart. |
And HaHa. |
I didnt name him because both of them were committed to us but only the idea of HaHa makes me sad. |

Mich had 1% at HaHa. |
Thanks HaHa didnt know you posted here.
and at what point did I say they had a shot at him clearly I said Maze and Hart were committed and the idea of HaHa playing at Michigan would have been amazing. |

my point was more so just the general prevailing idea that hoke can't win head to heads period, but i get how you could've interpreted it that way.
regardless, huge get. hopefully the positive vibes continue to roll through the summer and we can make up the necessary ground to get green in this class to hopefully go along with treadwell and mcquay (who named us in his top 3) or fuller as this class fills out over the rest of the recruiting year. _________________

Just for the heck of it, would someone take a stab at making the best case senario for Isaac fliping? Assuming we have a space left, do any of you think beating Alabama would do it?
By the way, my wish list at this point is Treadwell, Green, Mathis or Teller, and McQuay. I would also love to land Alvin Bailey if we have room. |

I think Isaac is of the demeanor that once he commits he is done barring some major scandal or compelling issue that makes him want to be closer to home (sick parent, etc.) so I would not think the staff is going to make any more attempts to recruit him out of respect for his decision.
It seems the staff is expecting four more spots to be open at the most. I agree with your wish list but would also be ecstatic with Wilkins in the place of Green. I would not count on any of these guys but the way this class has been shaping up I cannot discount anything from happening.
It would be nice to get a signature 5 star recruit not from the state of Michigan as I believe it will push this class from amazing to historic (though it kind of is already for UM, isn't it?). |

So, uh, we got commit #21. He is a long snapper. Yes you read that right. Yes, it is a full athletic scholarship. No, I don't know anything about him. No it doesn't make sense to me either. Hopefully we can take a class of 25 now (assuming some of the guys we are after want to come - Treadwell, Bailey, McQuay/Fuller, and a DL or RB). _________________

everything I have seen is that this is become a more common practice among schools. I saw it explained as 10-15 years ago it was unheard of to give kicker/Punters scholarships but now its the norm so its something that they are comfortable doing with him clearly.
As far as reports what I have hears is that he is an "Elite, Elite" long snapper that will be doing it as a freshman. A former Michigan long snapper that worked with him for a couple weeks and another coach had this to say about him.
| Quote: | | He also worked out with former Michigan long snapper Jeremy Miller last month at a Kornblue kicking camp, where he became an immediate curiosity for his ability and consistency. |
A coach at the camp had this to say
| Quote: | | “I’ve worked with Kornblue for five years and this is the most excited I’ve been because we haven’t had a snapper come through our camps the caliber of Scott,” Miller said. The kid is an absolute stud. He’s averaging .71 [seconds] on 15-yard snaps and I was doing that my fifth-year at Michigan and he’s only 17. He has a bright future and we’re lucky to have him. |
| Quote: | | Rubio compared Sypniewski’s form to that of a fluid power hitter in baseball. It looks extremely easy and effortless, but then the ball hits your hand. The .71 Miller referred to is .71 seconds from when the snapper starts moving the ball until it hits the punter’s hands 15 yards away. |
Also says that the coaches were in love with the fact that he can block and hold the line after he snaps and that he gets down field and makes tackles very often, and that he has been long snapping since 7th grade.
So he is looked at as one of if not the best long snapper that alot of people in the region have seen in a while.
That is one of those positions you are mad that you gave a scholly to until you dont have a long snapper and realize that they are beyond important. |

What's done is done, but if we have to turn away one of the guys you just named, there are going to be some pissed Wolverine fans. And yea, you can now add Robert Foster to the list as he just named us in his top 7. |

Also, Jordan Wilkins isn't visiting UM this weekend, he has the ACT. He'll reschedule. I expect him to end up at Auburn - he almost committed there during his last visit. _________________

Actually, I assume Hoke has a good idea of whose likely to commit, and based on that view felt he had room for a LS. I'm not mad, but there are a lot of who fans who are concerned we might have shut the door on an elite prospect. |

2013 3* NC CB/DB Channing Stribling has committed to Michigan (or will be tomorrow).
Camped at Michigan this week and subsequently earned an offer. _________________

Also, Michigan recently extended offers to 2014 MI ATH Damon Webb (WR/CB - being recruited as a CB by Michigan - from Cass Tech) and 2014 FL WR Corey Holmes (from FLA power St. Thomas Aquinas HS - other offers from Florida, Wisconsin, and a couple others) - Michigan now leads for both. _________________
