Watching college football on TV is the pastime of many fans. So many games are televised each week, either nationally, regionally, or locally, that it's common to flip between games.

In recent years, there have been a number of games that exclusively stream online.

I expect many of those games to migrate over to other networks that don't currently air college football. Like The Hub, USA, Spike, the CW, and others.

What do you think the expansion of options will look like in the future? After all, we have more options for watching games than we did 30 years ago.

Yeah now it's like ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPN U, ABC (affiliated with ESPN), etc. I would imagine it is going to keep expanding.

Spike could benefit from airing major sports, whether it's college or pro, since it is a male-oriented channel - sports usually draws large male audiences.

The Hub is a family-oriented channel, and IMO watching college football (or any sport for that matter) is a great family experience.

That seems reasonable, except the MWC shut down their network.

If the MWC really wanted TV exposure, they'd air games on The CW, which is half-owned by CBS (which also owns the CBS Sports Network which does show some MWC games). They should also air some games on other NBCUniversal channels (like Bravo or USA), not just the NBC Sports Network.

Believe me, almost any channel basically can air college football games. ESPN can also produce games for other Disney channels like ABC Family. College football is more popular than ever. The various companies that own the major cable channels will see this, and want in on the action. These deals would generally be supplemental to deals with sports-based or over-the-air channels, not replacing them entirely.
