Klinsmann's team selections are just as bad, if not worse, than what Bob Bradley gave us.

They're nonsensical. He says if a guy isn't playing and performing at his club team, then he won't get called in. Yet Boyd and Gomez have been on the bench for the last 3 weeks prior to this weekend, while Jozy's been on the best form of any US attacker over that span. I don't get it.

There are several factors at play. Maybe the club didn't want him used. Maybe Jozy wanted a rest. Maybe Jurgen is confident (as he should be) and wanted Jozy to rest. It isn't like he is in good shape to start with, and you don't want to burn guys out.

You don't need all the top guns to win these two games.

Those are all valid, but none completely add up to him not being called up. Verbeek has no control over preventing guys from going during an international break. And I can't imagine Jurgen is thinking we are gonna walk all over A&B and Guatemala. Last cycle, it look a Ricardo Clark miracle at Trinidad and Tobago for us to get a win there.

I think it's because Jurgen and Jozy don't see eye to eye.

Jozy tweeted the other day (later quickly deleted) that he was being made a scapegoat for another's incompetence.

Many thought that tweet was about the ref in his last league game, but he tweeted it Friday (the same day EJ revealed that he was called up), AZ played yesterday. Is he calling out Klinsmann? Could be.

Alan Gordon? Hahaha. That is hilarious. At least Kljestan got a callup. Still have no idea what poor Lichaj has to do to get called up.

So it seems that Donovan, Jones and Shea are all fit.

Think we'll see something like this.

If Jones can't go, I'd expect Zusi there.

If Landon can't go, perhaps EJ starts and Herc goes out wide? Or Williams?

Some tidbits from Klinsmann's conference call.

Quote:
Steven Goff ‏@SoccerInsider
Will Jozy return? Klinsi: "This is decision for these 2 games so door is always open. We hope to see positive reaction, more commitment"

Steven Goff ‏@SoccerInsider
"I was not happy about his performances with us" -- Klinsi on Jozy #usmnt

Steven Goff ‏@SoccerInsider
Donovan injury not so serious, skipped MRI exam, flying to Miami for #usmnt camp

Steven Goff ‏@SoccerInsider
Jermaine Jones was held out by Schalke as precaution, is fine to join #usmnt, Klinsi says

Yes, we do. It's World Cup qualifying.

Perhaps Gordon will be seeing some time on the pitch...

Klinsmann says omission of Wondolowski from USMNT was a tactical decision; Gordon much better in the air and in playing target forward role.

We do need a target forward.

I hope Zusi starts over Jones, we need to attack against a weak team like A&B, Bradley and Williams should be enough defensive cover
