Yup. In fact, Brendon Small (does all of the voices on the show) is actually a very talented guitarist.
But you know how metal fans are. They can't take a joke. _________________

I really wish Metalocalypse were funnier. It definitely has its moments, but usually it's way too predictable. Most of the jokes seem to be predicated on a single character trait for each of them.
Murderface = ugly
Skwisgaar = funny accent
Toki = childlike
Nathan = dumb
Pickles = alcoholic
It wears thin.
Frankly, Spinal Tap did this exponentially better 30 years ago. _________________

God that movie was funny. I'll never forget the Stonehenge debacle.

I can laugh at myself or my interests anytime that it's actually an acute observation and humorous. Metalocalypse is neither, and nor is calling me a "metal hipster".
It's a shame that 'metal' is so accessible nowadays, both literally, and symbolically. The real underground culture and metal lifestyle attracted only people who were legitimately diehard and passionate about it. Nowadays the internet, thanks to the hordes of posers, casual-cool listeners, and generally uninformed that it attracts, has largely made metal a joke. _________________ DIAF |

Yeh, forgive someone who spent entire summers in their teens earning $ to mail order albums seen in IRC'd catalogues from Brazil, Japan, you name it for taking it seriously. Forgive someone who established a large circle of demo tape traders to learn about new bands for taking it seriously. Forgive someone who has run his own hobbyist label just because he wanted to see a couple of bands he loved have their albums pressed for taking it seriously. Forgive someone who has traveled intercontinentally just to see some of his favorite bands play live for taking it seriously. I can go on and on. Metal was great when people actually earned (the right to) what they listened to, not just youtubed and torrented everything under the sun with no sense of history, appreciation of the scene and culture around it, etc. That's how underground things are supposed to be. But alas, woe is me, alas those halcyon days........... sigh.......... Better yet, don't forgive me- just go listen to Lady Gaga, daydream about Justin Bieber, and get the hell away from music you don't actually know or care about.
And get the hell off my lawn too
(ps, I can take and do joke about myself)

| I see what he's saying, but youtube and stuff like that is great because not everyone can afford to go out and spend money on albums, or don't know where to find them or whatever. It shouldn't matter where someone hears music as long as they genuinely feel it and support it. |
