I introduce to you, the fourth annual Footballs Future Philadelphia Eagles Forum Fantasy Football Championship of the World
The History of the Eaglebowl
Once upon a time, there started a game which involved the gladiators of the Eagles Forum. The plethora of posting talent locked horns annually to compete for the crown most coveted in Eagles Forum folklore, the Fantasy Football Championship.
But much like the game of American Football, there was a time where the showcase of this great forum was not on Centre Stage, with the likes of Lewisian winning a fantasy football championship. But much like the introduction of the Superbowl, in 2010, on visionary young upstart created something so magical, and event so brilliant that the masses took notice and applied for entry to the grandest stage of them all, the Eaglebowl Championship.
With Fantasy Football becoming the forefront competition in the Eagles Forum, competition for places was so great, that a second division was created to host the many teams.
The 2010 was split in to Varsity and Junior Varsity sections to accommodate the Philly faithful. The Varsity division played host to the Gladiators of the Eagles Forum, the likes of Nabbius, Hockeria and Lord 27.
Eaglebowl I
The championship game took place between Nabbius and Sir Blah of Newcastle, one which the eldest statement won and took grasp of the Eaglebowl trophy.
In the Junior Varsity, teams battled each other for the right to head into the Lions den the next year, with Jay Rocofella and the 41 year old only known as Efan battling there way through the minions to reach the promised land.
2011 came around, with Sir Blah of Newcastle looking to cement his legacy and take what he believed was rightfully his after his Eaglebowl defeat. It was one of the new kids on the block that took the division by storm however, as Rocofella destroyed all before him in the regular season, going into the playoffs as the No.1 seed. The playoffs rolled round, with all four of last years finalists in the mix. Nabbius, Sir Blah of Newcastle, Jay Rocofella and the man they call Efan.
The man they call Efan took no prisoners in round 1, dispatching the defending champion Nabbius in a display of knowledge and skill. Efan was not done there, as he took care of the No.1 seed Rocofella in the Semi Final. This courageous journey from the rookie led to the Eaglebowl II Colosseum, where he would do battle with Sir Blah. The man they call Efan displayed a fight never seen before in this competition, and came from a long way behind to lift the trophy.
The man they called Efan, was never seen again in these parts.
Eaglebowl II
By now, the legacy of Eaglebowl had become apparent, as a third league was added to the championship. In Junior Varisty, Sir Joe of Broadway took his place amongst the elite, whilst in Freshman, the visionary known as 89 secured his promotion up the pyramid.
In 2012, Sir Joe of Broadway hanged posters of The man they called Efan. "If he can do it, so can I." Proudly stated the rookie to the Colosseum.
The other rookie, Visionary 89, was on a similar warpath, with both Gladiators setting a warpath for Eaglebowl III. Sir Broadway of Joe was the one to take the spoils and secure his place in the Eagles Forum Fantasy Hall of Fame.
Eaglebowl III
The two lower divisions were named Westbrook and Dawkins, and produced some epic battles for the ages. In 2010 Duke EmEm suffered the heartbreak of being cast aside by the forums Elite, in 2012, he secured his path back to the promised land, completing his redemption. He is joined in the Elite group by Colonel Sunny, and the Westbrook Champion Admiral Eften.
Colonel Sunny and Admiral Eften will look to emulate the now departed Efan and defending Champion Sir Joe of Broadway and become Eaglebowl IV champion as a rookie.
Let Battle Commence.
