Okay, I was at work today. Went up to the front desk at work to put up something. Was right behind my boss. When all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain on my groin. I sorta fell back and saw a wasp fly away. I doubled over. Then I told my boss I just got stung on my male part (didn't call it that but yeah). My boss then said what. So I said it again. Not knowing he was talking to a customer. He told me to shut up. Then he was like what. How did I get stung. Showed him the wasp that was still near by. He started laughing and told me to go sit down. Well after a half hour later he sent me to the hospital. Now it is swollen pretty badly.
So I have to ask have you known anyone else that has gotten stung on their man junk? |
I used to know guys that would take a tap to the groin and double over, regardless of how painful it was. Always made me laugh because I have gonads of steel.
Though getting stung down there might be unpleasant. Did it leave a mark? (Please, no pictures. I've already had to see Mike's junk, and don't wanna see any other FFer's junk, or any other's junk for that matter.) |
There is a little black dot where he stung me at. Kind crazy that it could of stung me threw my pants and boxers.
Also I forgot that I posted this they gave me some med's. So I was a little out of my mind. |

LOL!
Bigs, SC here so you are right southeastern US. As hot as it has been here lately, the lava flow is actually believable!
Atleast the highs were in the upper 80's and lower 90's by the end of the week in that report, I will take on Godzilla myself for those cool temps!! |

So I woke up this morning to a visitor in my bath tub, a Brown Recluse spider.
I had never actually seen a Brown Recluse before, or at least didn't know it if I did. I then spent the better part of the day researching them on the net. Turns out any insecticide is fairly useless, and since they tend to prefer to eat dead bugs rather then living ones about 80% of the time, spraying and killing other stuff could actually make the problem worse.
When I got home from work, I did a nice survey of my house and found at least 3 more (2 were so small it was hard to make out exactly what they were, but looked like them). One I found was in my pillow case. This was especially disturbing because apparently most bites happen in bed while people are sleeping, and they roll over one that has climbed up their covers.
I'm posting this because I'm a little freaked out. Not so much for myself, but for my 9 month old son, as young kids and the elderly are the most susceptible to severe effects from a bite. Based on what I've read, these things are extremely common in the plains area, like Kansas/Missouri, and was wondering if any of ya'll have experience living with these things.
Since apparently if you see one, most likely there are dozens if not hundreds in your house you can't see. However, despite media hysteria, bites are actually fairly rare, and there are countless scientific observations of major infestations over long periods of time never resulting in a bite.
So, any advice from you mdiwesterners? _________________

Bigs, no advice here, but those bastards really scare me. We have two girls (3-1/2 years old and 14 months old) and that has always been something that worried me. It really scared me when one night I felt a "poking" sensation on my hand right between my thumb and finger. I was half asleep so I just brushed my hand and went back to sleep. The next day I woke up and on my hand where two puncture marks where you could tell fangs penetrated my skin. It didn't take long for my hand to swell up. I went to the urgent care center because all I could think about are the nasty internet pictures of half-rotten arms and legs from spider bites (especially the brown recluse).
The doctor mentioned that they are pretty rare down here in the south (I am in SC) and he has only seen one bite in over 20 years of practicing. He came me some antibiotics and after a couple of days the swelling went down. But for quite awhile afterwards the two marks were clearly visible on my hand.
But it still scares the crap out of me to think about one of those bastards biting one of the kids. My 3-1/2 year old is pretty allergic to even mosquito bites when she is outside...we have to spray her up good with repellant so needless to say I worry that she could really have a bad reaction right away from really any spider bite let alone a brown recluse. |
