After another solid performance by Reed in a playoff game, how close is this guy to ranking with the former HOF greats? I'm a younger poster, so I don't know about all of the former great safeties, but he has to rank up there high with them, doesn't he?

He's one of the best, no doubt. But Lott, Ken Houston, Larry Wilson are undoubtedly the top 3. Then you have Krause, Easley, Atwater, Woodson, Sharper and Polamalu also in his league. _________________

| I'd say he's around top 5. He's not the greatest, but definitely up there. He's in my top 5 along with Lott, Wilson, Houston, and Krause. |

I can say without a doubt he's the best I've ever seen. Lott seems to be up there as well, but Reed's ability to find the ball and then find his way into the endzone is unmatched. _________________

High on the list, but Lott is the clear cut #1 in my eyes. _________________

| Ronnie Lott is #1 for me, but that could be the changes in the game. If I was playing against Lott I would be [inappropriate/removed] my pants every time I touched the ball |

Taylor's loss was sad, but don't overrate him because of it...he was no where near the best ever. _________________

There is no way he's better than Ronnie Lott. He plays in a different age, so it's impossible to discern between that. _________________

I hate this garbage, I mean RIP to the guy, but he was not even the best S in the league when he passed.....quit putting him on a high pedestal because he wasn't this force that many thought he was _________________

He was a dominant force his last season. But I do agree with you guys about him not being close to the best ever.
The best safety of all-time is Ronnie Lott. _________________

I'm biased but, Yup. He's got 8 picks in like 10 playoff games. That's ridiculously clutch. People shouldn't forget that he was a devastating hitter earlier in his career too. _________________
