This coming from the guy who quoted windycitygridiron Laughing

That's because that was all that was out there.

I don't need google to tell me what happened. I have a memory.

But I did look up past topics on here because I knew it was discussed. I found this:

Here's a Brad Biggs story addressing an issue we have talked about various times since the Earl Bennett rookie year debacle.

Quote:
The speedster and fifth-round draft pick is being worked only at the X position behind Earl Bennett with an eye toward having him contribute early this season.

Quote:
One of the explanations given for Bennett's slow development a year ago was that he was being forced to learn both outside positions and the slot, and that is a burden for any newcomer. Knox is staying put, with the thinking that he can be a threat for quarterback Jay Cutler from the start.

Quote:
''We want to get Johnny on the field, and we don't want him to not be on the field because he doesn't know the system,'' offensive coordinator Ron Turner said.

It's what the Bears did with Devin Hester when they first moved him to offense. Eventually, the other positions will come for Knox. Meanwhile, third-round pick Juaquin Iglesias is at the Z behind Hester and is getting time in the slot. He earned praise last week but also had a few drops.

This makes so much more sense than what they did with Bennett. I understand that it would be nice to have flexibility with your receivers but rookie WR's have a hard enough time adjusting to the NFL as it is without getting them completely overwhelmed.

Hopefully this will be the way they handle things in the future.

The other interesting thing here is that you can pretty much forget about seeing Johnny Knox in the slot (i.e. the Y), at least right away. I know there were some people around who wanted to see him there but it looks like they want to initially try and use his speed to stretch the field and let other guys work underneath.

^^^

So the one part of this that actually comes from Ron Turner has nothing to do with Bennett…like I said believe that the only reason he didn’t play was because they were trying to force him to learn all three spots (something to be honest he should have been able to do if they did ask him to do that) but Bennett himself has said it was the concept of the offence he struggled with…not learning about positions and as I said this quote from Turner is about Johnny Knox…not Bennett…

Not only that but at the top of the quote it says “Here's a Brad Biggs story addressing an issue we have talked about various times since the Earl Bennett rookie year debacle.” Then the link (which doesn’t work anymore) is to the suntimes website…and Briggs doesn’t even write for them.

Because that was over 3 years ago.

Whatever dude, live with your blinders on because you don't want to admit you're wrong. I really don't care.

See that’s the funny thing about memory…you tend to remember what you want to remember…

“That's because that was all that was out there.”…that was what you said about windycitygridiron…strange that was the only “source” you could find…

I prefer facts over memories…I also prefer the word of the player involved over yours.
