Amazing how people just forget he was out of football last year. |
A year off probably helped more than it hurt him. His legs are as fresh as they have ever been at any point in time. | As fresh as he's even been as a 35+ year old? |

| Quote: | The bigger news is that, instead of bringing in a guy like Brian Brohm to town to throw the passes (like the Saints did last week), the Niners will simply ask their head coach to temporarily expand his duties.
York tried via his tweet to make folks think that the Niners had joined the Peyton chase with this opening line: “Former Colt Pro Bowl QB throwing for #49ers tomorrow.” But York the adds, “Just to clarify, Coach Harbaugh is turning into Capt Comeback to throw to Randy Moss.”
|
Pretty cool. Talk about getting a feel for what Randy can do. It's one thing watching a workout but to actually be the one throwing to him _________________

ya....just like jerry rice should make a come back...that dude has super fresh legs. | Let's not get crazy now. Moss is only a year removed from football. He still had football-esque ability to lean on, so the belief that he does have fresh legs actually holds pretty true.
Again - there are freaks of nature who do maintain athletic ability past their due date. Darrell Green ran a 4.4 on his 50th birthday (IIRC) and Herschel Walker can probably break 4.4 right now, and he's like 55. Jerry Rice never ran a 4.4, but I'm sure he can replicate his best time right now if asked. Moss is cut from that same cloth - a guy who had scary athletic ability, and time away from the game probably did him well in regards to re-discovering that. It isn't like he sat on the couch, drinking Four Lokos and eating Funyons - even if he DID, I betcha he could break off a respectable time (faster than any of US, that's for sure).
I don't get the two extreme camps in the Moss and Rice debate. I'm pro-Rice, doesn't mean I feel as if Moss isn't still capable of doing some damage at this age. Conversly, I don't feel as if Rice was heads and shoulders better than Moss. Much better work ethic, yes...but it isn't as if said work ethic puts Rice on a level that Moss can only see with a telescope.
It's closer than anyone on either side of the fence is willing to admit. If only someone can ADMIT that, us in the middle would be more inclined to take a side in this debate. _________________

I love that tweet by 49ers owner York ... way to screw with your fan bases feelings... that's like a man taking his girlfriend to Jared's and then just looking at watches _________________

I think this is a great fit. The 49ers don't have the best talent at WR so he'll probably get lots of good looks. Really hopes this works out, he deserves a ring. a top 5 wr of all time (top 3 in my book), and has been on 2 of the best teams to never win a superbowl.

And... much as NBT might like us to, we really don't need two Randy Moss threads going at the same time. So discussion can continue here:
