Are they preparing to possibly lose Carr?

Contract is 3 years 20 mill via PFT

Yeah, I would think this means Carr is gone while they keep Bowe. Routt is in a perfect spot where he will get to play physical. Needs to tone down the aggressiveness, but the Chiefs will still have one of the best duos in the game.

Routt is nowhere near as good as the contract we gave him last year, but he's still a good player. I think he'll do good in Romeo Crennel's defense.

Imagine if the Chiefs find a way to resign Brandon Carr. That would be the best CB trio in the league.

Nice pick up for KC at the pay rate Routt is worth, just as long as they don't plan on playing him in then slot or in zone....

Solid signing. Now Carr can come be in the man in Minnesota.

Everyone automatically assumes the CHIEFS didn't want Carr. What if it's the other way around and this was the perfect opportunity for the Chiefs to fill the void? For all we know Carr wanted out.

In my personal opinion / belief we are going to re sign Carr as well. pioli made it VERY well known that the league is changing and then selected Eric Berry. Having 4 cover corners should be a staple in today's defense. (I'm including arenas).

I don't think this means KC just lets go of Carr. I personally believe they'll franchise him, but that's just me.

Money talks. If someone will pay Carr a lot more then KC, he will walk. Black and white.

I used to think differently, and that players still have some allegiance to their respective team. But it's not that way anymore and Carr is a hot target. KC will have to pay him like they would Flowers IMO.

Why be a number 2, when you can be paid more and be a number 1 somewhere else?

I still think KC makes a run for Carr, especially with all that cap space. Way too early to have given up on BC. It's also a nice insurance policy if they miss out on Carr.

Like you said today's NFL calls for more DBs...But damn that will be one expensive secondary...

Especially if they sign Bowe long term...

So wait, they are going to pay starting CB money to 2 CBs is what some are thinking?

And they what? Routt goes inside where he's hot garbage?

Can't see it.

Chiefs got worse IMO, but they were smart about it if they were never going to re-sign Carr anyway

With more than $52 million of contracts tied up in CBs Brandon Flowers and Stanford Routt, expect KC to let Brandon Carr walk

Pretty much guarantees the Chiefs playing mostly Man/Bump-and-Run(which is what we're more suited for) I pray at least.

Why does it have to be Routt that is moved inside? Why not Flowers or Carr?

I think Flowers could be Woodson-esque in the slot.

Flowers has problems with guys with speed. Why would you want him in the slot?
