|
Per Adam Schefter:
"NFL security determined between 22 and 27 defensive players on the Saints, as well as at least one asst. coach, maintained a bounty program. Investigation reviewed 18.000 documents totaling more than 50,000 pages. Commissioner Goodell will determine the discipline. NFL determined that former Saints DC Gregg Williams administered the program with knowledge of other defensive coaches. Discipline for the Saints could include fines, suspensions and forfeiture of draft choices. NFL investigation of Saints began in 2010 when allegations were made that Saints targeted QBs such as Brett Favre and Kurt Warner."

If i had to pick 1 DC who i thought could do this it would be Gregg Williams. As for the Warner hit, it was clean IMO. _________________

Clean? yes. Headhunting? Also yes. Absolutely yes. Warner wasn't even a part of that play. That defender was just teeing off for the hell of it. Or in this case it seems, for extra cash. _________________

More from Schefter:
"A safe prediction: Saints will be disciplined far worse than the Patriots were for Spygate."
Insane. Pats lost a 1st round pick in Spygate. Crazy. _________________

Intentionally trying to take someone out of a game is the worst kind of act you can do on a sports field.
Intentionally trying to injure another human being. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

If Big Ben threw a pick in the SB, and Dockett had the opportunity to do the same thing would you want him to take that shot, as a legal hit? _________________

No. Honest truth. What's the point? If Ben's not in position to tackle our defender, as Warner wasn't, what's the point? _________________

To better your team's chances for the rest of the game. I thought that point was pretty clear... Football is a violent game, i don't have a problem with players taking vicious hits if they're legal. If your stomping on players and getting bounties for it then i think it's wrong. _________________

Schefter on NFL Live:
"You can take the penalties the Patriots received for Spygate, $500,000 for Belichick, $250,000 for the organization and a 1st round pick, and magnify them exponentially. Things are about to blow up."
INSANE. Even more crazy is that the guy getting most of the heat, Gregg Williams, is now in our division. _________________

If the only way the Cardinals can win is if Ben doesn't play, we don't deserve to win.
Now if Ben's got a chance at making a tackle there, by all means, light him up but if you're doing it because you can't win the game straight up and you want the 50K(Per Schefter....) bounty, you're just being stupid IMHO. _________________

According to Schefter, bonuses were paid to players who forced opposing offensive players out of the game "on a cart".
Ridiculous. _________________

I've always wondered if this was a bigger part of the league but since it didn't seem like any punishment was ever handed out I figured it just wasn't happening. I have no idea if Warner was on their "hit list" but if he was they certainly were successful. _________________

| when we lost to the saints in the playoffs and Warner got blindsided when he was trying to recover a fumble I knew something was up. That hit made Warner retire i guarantee it. |

I always thought that hit Warner took was dirty and unnecessary by the defense player. Was it a clean it? yes. Was there a point to the hit? no
They were trying to take him out of the game. _________________
