All of that however is nothing compared to what we are going to do this year.

I was thinking last night, that as we have plenty of time, and now that the combine is done and FA is about to begin that we should get something started I've been mulling over for a year or so.

As such I would like to announce the 1st Ever Footballs Future Eagles Forum Ultimate Fantasy Football 2012 or as it shall be known going forward FFEFUFF fantasy football will never be the same again.

I am going to take certain parts of certain other games and challenges and put it all together to create something that will run for the entire 2012 season, and maybe the duration of the playoffs if people are interested.

The Concept

Fantasy Football in the UK works differently to how it is run in the US. In the US you play your team vs some dudes team every week with the aim of winning more games and getting to the playoffs. In the UK your team plays every week against every other team and you accumulate points throughout the season. The winner is the team that hast the most points at the end of the season. The down side is that teams can have the same players. I am going to combine both concepts into one.

Your team, which will be drafted as per US fantasy football will play every game of the season. They will score points based on their performance, and the points will total up over the year to give a grand total at the end of the year. Every player in your team will play every week, even when they are on a bye, but as you are not playing another user this will not matter.

There will not be as much cutting and adding of players because the rosters will be bigger.

The rosters will be a full 53 man NFL roster with a little tweaking, we are not using O-Line.

Your 43 man roster will contain the following

QB x 3
RB x 3
FB x 1
WR x 6
TE x 3

DL x 6/8
LB x 8/6
CB x 5
S x 4

K x 2

LB and DL obviously depends on if you want to play a 3-4 or a 4-3.

That is 49 players I hear you say, where are the other 2.

In true fantasy style we will use teams but with a twist.

Teams will be scored on both offense, defense & special teams - yards and points only, so there is no point in picking a team that's going to get a lot of sacks, or gain massive yards but give up even more *cough* New England *cough*

NFL Team x 2

So there's your roster that you draft.

I am ironing out all of the scoring at the moment to make sure that the best defensive players can earn the same amount of points as the best RBs and QBs so if you draft Demarcus Ware at #1 overall he could theoretically get the same number of points in a season as Drew Brees. This will eliminate drafting for pure "points" and means that we draft on talent, so at the same time you will be drafting your own "Franchise"

** I am looking a bit more in detail at this section currently.

But what if my player gets injured you ask.

Just like the real NFL you will have the option to put your player onto IR. At that point his points for the season will be saved, and you'll be able to add another player through waivers. If you choose to cut a player you will loose all accumulated points for that player.

** I am looking a bit more in detail at this section currently.

There will be the option to place players on Injured reserve.

The Draft

The draft will be done using a random order round by round so that it is fair to all. Holding the first pick will only get you the first pick!

Scoring

As I have stated above I am still ironing out the scoring multipliers but I want the best players in the league to get the highest points no matter what position they play. I am using various multipliers so that all stats count.

On Offense
• Completions
• Yards
• Touchdowns
• Interceptions
• Fumbles
• Fumbles Lost
• Receptions
On Defense
• Tackles
• Sacks
• Forced Fumbles
• Fumble Recovery
• Interceptions
• Pass Deflections
• Touchdowns
On Special Teams
• Field Goals
• PATs
• Missed Field Goals
• Blocked Kicks
• Return Yards
• Touchdowns
** On Teams - If this is possible **
• Total Yards Gained
• Total Yards Allowed
• Touchdowns Scored
• Touchdowns Allowed
• Points Scored
• Points Allowed

When do we start

That depends on you, how many people are interested, I think I am looking for between 10-12 teams, they can be on your own or they can be with other people, after all this is a bit bigger than anything else we tried. The only key factor is that the rosters are completed by the time the HOF game kicks off. I have no idea how long a 500 pick draft will take.

Can you help

Maybe read on.

The league looks like it will be held on FleaFlicker, who are looking to implement a total points systems shortly, so by the time the draft is complete we'll be able to proceed with the league as planned.

There is also the option to have a tiered league system, which of course makes it more interesting, if the interest is there we could have multiple leagues depending on the interest levels. If we have multiple leagues then I may well be looking for some go GMs to run the other leagues.

This is all open for discussion as are the rules / scoring etc. This is just the initial post to gauge interest levels.

So having said all that, and because I know you've read all that………

Who is interested?

All thoughts are welcome.

You draft players to roster from scratch. Rosters are locked. Points are scored based on games a la normal fantasy.

Winner is the person with the highest point total at the end of the season.

Seems like a lot of work, but I might be interested.

I agree it might be a lot of work - this is the bit I'm working on.

Ideally I would like to have it set online in some fantasy app so that it can do all the hard work for me - but I don't know if there's one that will allow me to customize it enough to make the scoring even.

That is what I'm looking into at the moment.

This is crucial to the success of this. Otherwise it's a massive undertaking of work on your part.

That said, hey if you're willing to do it, I'll play Laughing

I'll do it.

I think fleaflicker may allow for larger rosters.

Well surely we can just add the weekly totals as we go in here...

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, only Yahoo that I can see offers true total points, but the rosters would only be 30.

I have just found this.

http://www.fleaflicker.com/topic?forumsTopicId=20664

So they are working on Total points.

In which case.

Total Points
40 Man Rosters including 10 man IR.

No OL.

How does that sound to everyone?
