Dallas? You have got to be kidding me. Sure its a rivalry but if that was the case last year it would have been Green Bay vs Chicago or something. Every single year Dallas underachieves and does nothing. Could have at least picked a good team. _________________

McCarthy will be happy about it ... gives him a few more practices to get his guys ready for showtime. I'd rather our schedule be as normal as possible. Starting on a Wednesday seemed a bit odd.

It's a big rivalry, it'll pull in high ratings.
Plus, as FG just mentioned, I'm fine with it. We get on a normal schedule. _________________

NBC's January 1st primetime game between these two teams was the most successful for them in their history, so naturally they're shooting for ratings (i.e an underachieving team led by a quarterback who does everything except win gets great ratings apparently).
Regardless, I'll take the Sunday game. _________________

Oh well. The sooner we can kick their can and re establish the proper heirarchy the better.

Never seen a team that has done nothing on the field since the 90's get talked about as much as the Cowboys do. Whatever. Let people get their fill of mediocre Jerry Jones ball right away. Who's up for some more "superstar"-esque play from Tony Romo?!

Id doesn't matter how good or bad Dallas is. Ever.
The Cowboys could be 0-16 Lions bad and they'd still get a couple prime time games the next season AND good ratings. They have one of the more wide spread and devoted fanbases in the NFL. A Cowboys-Giants opener is a huge draw from every commercial interest.
Personally I'm glad. That early game is especially hard on the visiting team and I'm glad to see the Packers avoid it. _________________

It was annoying not having a normal schedule last year. We played on every marque day. _________________

This. I was at the Giants-Packers game at the Meadowlands this past season. The crowd got loud. I can only imagine what it would be like during the first game of the year. We'd need to jump on them early and shut them up. Like 14-0/21-0 type jump. _________________

That's too bad, I was looking forward to beating the last world champs on opening day and setting the tone for the rest of the season. But, like others have stated, its nice to be on a "normal" schedule. _________________

They probably wanted a close matchup for the first game. No one wants to see a blowout to begin the season. _________________

I was hoping the Packers would get the Giants on opening day so that they'd get a chance to beat the defending champ in the opener. In fact, I was 99 percent confident that GB-NYG would be the opener but oh well. _________________
