Personally, I would think that your third round pick [#88] and maybe a future (2013) fourth or fifth round pick could get it done.
Now, here is a completely outside-of-the-box idea that I wanted to toss out there (don't beat me up!). I know you guys re-signed Desean Jackson and have Jeremy Maclin along with Riley Cooper, Jason Avant, and Corey Hall...but what do you guys think about this trade?
The Kansas City Chiefs trade their 2012 first round pick (#11) and defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for their 2012 first round pick (#15) and their second round pick (#46 or #51).
This trade basically values Glenn Dorsey as either a high third round pick (if pick #46 is included) or a mid-third round pick (if pick #51 is included).
Let's say for arguments sake Michael Floyd is still on the board....
This would give you guys a defensive tackle that is much better suited to playing in a 4-3 scheme along with a premier top-tier wide receiver prospect from the 2012 draft.
If you guys can't stand the thought of Floyd being selected, is there any other prospect that you would want IF considering Dorsey is included in the trade? |
IMO I would only move up a few spots for Cox, and that's it. Rather see who falls to #15 and make a decision from there. That trade you proposed seems like we're giving up a lot. _________________

Very interesting. I assume you would move him to the safety position right out of the gate?
From an outsider's perspective, I see Floyd as being the physical presence in the passing game to compliment the deep play ability of Desean Jackson...and Maclin could play the slot.
Either way, I think Dorsey would look really good in your defensive line rotation next to Cullen Jenkins with Mike Patterson, Derek Landri, and Antonio Dixon serving as depth. Is Trevor Laws re-signed? |

Kirkpatrick should and i think would play safety for us.
hes the best player on the board.
I really like Floyd tho to, i just feel like Andy wont do it, cause hes worried about DeSeans ego. Im cereal. _________________

Laws went to STL. And I while Dorsey might reflourish in the 3 tech, the only player that I think would be on the board at 11 I want to trade up for is Fletcher Cox. _________________

Charlie Campbell's latest 5 round 2012 mock
| Quote: | 15. Philadelphia Eagles: Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State
The Eagles have a need at defensive tackle, and Andy Reid has had a strong inclination to draft for the lines in the first round. |
| Quote: | 46. Philadelphia Eagles: Bobby Wagner, ILB/OLB, Utah State
The Eagles land an outside linebacker to go with DeMeco Ryans. They are hosting Wagner before the draft. |
| Quote: | 51. Philadelphia Eagles: Trumaine Johnson, CB/S, Montana
The Eagles could use some depth in the secondary. They are bringing Johnson in for a pre-draft visit. |
| Quote: | 88. Philadelphia Eagles: Marvin Jones, WR, California
The Eagles could use some wide receiver depth. Jones is a nice value here. |
| Quote: | 114. Philadelphia Eagles: Kirk Cousins, QB, Michigan State
The Eagles need a backup quarterback and will be hosting Cousins to work with him before the draft. |
| Quote: | 153. Philadelphia Eagles: Janzen Jackson, S, McNeese State
The Eagles get some safety help and are showing interest in Jackson in the form of a pre-draft visit. |
I could live with a draft that looks like that. Maybe a minor tweak or two here and there, but for the most part, this is not bad at all. _________________

I had made a mock in my head a few days ago, and it looks exactly like this, except for the Cousin pick. It's the only pick I'm iffy on, but it's good value so I'm happy.
Edit: I didn't have a WR in the third, because I would probably have used that to trade up for a few spots for Cox, but whatever a WR or DE in the third sounds good to me. _________________

| Quote: | | the NFL has unearthed just three franchise-caliber quarterbacks in the second round over the past 20 drafts. |
| Quote: | | Plummer and Dalton would be "generous" inclusions because his team was always trying to replace Plummer, and Dalton has been in the league for just one year. 22 quarterbacks have been second-round picks since 1991. Drew Brees is the only one to truly "make it," and he was the 32nd selection in the 2001 draft. The trend may bode poorly for possible 2012 second-round quarterbacks Brock Osweiler (Arizona State) and Kirk Cousins (Michigan State). |

^I would be down irate with that draft outcome
I don't believe Cox is top 15 worthy...If he's there @ 15 I believe we could trade back and still grab him. He doesn't consistently show up on tape.
Not big on Wagner, he played alright but I don't believe he has the capability to play the SLB (will he have the hips and knowledge to run with TEs and MLB is set for at least two seasons+
Or T. Johnson is a tweener more slow CB than Safety. Imagine him trying to come up and make a tackle in space would be a repeat of last yr
and the rest is eh... _________________

I agree with the first two points, not the last. I believe Johnson will be a very good CB in this league. _________________
