| Grubbs, though not as good as Nicks, is still a pretty good guard. It may be a downgrade but we may save some necessary cash that can be used on Brees or other significant free agents. |

Probably our backup plan for Nicks in case he signs with the Bucs _________________

I like this. Saves some money while not a huge downgrade. It's been nice knowing you Nicks. _________________ Teams: NFL:New Orleans Saints

A minor downgrade in pass protection but an upgrade in run blocking and work ethic in my opinion.
Grubbs reminds me alot of Jahri Evans and would continue to give Saints one of the better guard tandems in the leauge. Also, seems like with this move ( if it happens ) has the Saints looking to be more run commited in 2012???
Some might disagree with me but in all honesty... I truly feel Grubbs is a better run blocker and more versitle. This switch would help out Ingram more in the long run than Brees.
Just my opinion... _________________

this implies that either Nicks completely rejected our offer or we gave him an offer which he didnt sign and we know that we cant match other teams and not waiting on him and potentially a good replacement. I like the move _________________

Good move! (if it happens)
Guess Nicks prefers money over a championship caliber team... _________________

I 100% disagree with you. Nicks was an absolute beast in run blocking, and I feel easily better than Grubbs.
That being said, I am all in favor of signing Grubbs if we can. _________________

I prefer Nicks but if the difference is 5 yr 30 million compared to 5 yr 60 million, I'll take Grubbs. _________________

Sorry NavyMan...
Were gunna have to agree to disagree!
Personally It's my opinion that everyone one our offensive lineman are overrated. A product of excellent quarterback play and one of the quickest releases in the game. The running game is a product of that passing game.
Now are these guys very good... Yes!
Are they superstars... Absoutly Not!
Can other players like Grubbs excel as they did in this scheme... Absoutly! _________________

This guy is a top priority now.
He's a downgrade from Nicks, but if he comes in at a more reasonable rate (not $9.5M/yr), then I'm down.
Him and Evans still give us one of the better G pairs in the NHL(atleast top-5). For Brees thats more than enough. _________________

Even if we don't get him, there are offensive tackles in the draft that I feel could easily make the transition to dominant offensive guard much like Evans and Nicks have already dine. But I agree j would prefer to sign him than have yo draft someone. _________________

| I would really like to bring him in, but if we could get a big time defense free agent instead I would prefer him... Some good players in the draft who we could get in late rounds... |
