Mehta also reported they're looking into Reggie Nelson. I think they'll look into all options at the position.

Problem is we had 3 "3rd safeties" last year. We need a legit starter and then a guy to compete.

I would say yes to signing both Landry and Nelson. But instead of Meriweather bring back Jim Leonhard on the cheap to compete and help teach these guys the nuances of the position in our system.

No interest in Craig Dahl? He is 26 years old and had 98 tackles with St. Louis last year. An option I would not mind having.

I want Landry and another guy to compete either Meriweather OR Nelson, BUT at the right price. I would be so happy with two S's a RT and a WR in FA and then at that point we would have alot of flexibility in the draft.

I'd be happy if any of these guys signed, but if we were to sign Nelson/Meriweather I'm hoping it's to package them with Landry.
This front office LOVES former 1st round picks (ironically all of them are) and I can see the Jets double dipping. I've felt the Jets would go after Landry and Meriweather for a few weeks now, but I honestly didn't expect Nelson to hit the open market. He takes poor angles but maybe that's something he can work on if he signed here. I'm pretty sure there would be less pressure on him, considering how talented our corners are.
