If the right player presented himself, I could see Reggie making a play. Charles Woodson signing in GB is evidence. |
I don't see McKenzie making any real splashes at least for a couple years, what a great signing Woodson was for the pack though. If Reggies signs one of those i would be more than happy but just don't see it in the short term at all. _________________ “It may take us a short while, but we'll get that nastiness of the Raiders back.”

Free agency is far from over for the Raiders. McKenzie will capitalize on training camp cuts and veteran free agents still looking for work. EJ on running downs in a 34 for the veteran minimum would be a huge pickup.

Benson also gets mentioned as a possibility for the Raiders, which just underscores how few established players looking to keep playing are still unemployed at this point in time. LINK |

+1. You all know how I feel about EJ Henderson. Should be interesting seeing this roster shape up. _________________

I like this. Every year, teams cut good players due to financial constraints, moving in a new direction, poor fit in a new system, etc. Hopefully Reggie can find a few vets who can come in and fill some needs or add some competition and depth. _________________

I like our LB Core, but against the pass I worry about them. Haven't seen enough of Wheeler in coverage to judge him, but he's an excellent pass rusher. Curry couldn't a mouse with a blanket. McClain can cover TEs and backs but receivers are another story. _________________

McClain got roasted by Arian Foster in a route in the flats . The only reason he gets away with covering TE's is his long body. I remember like 3 instances where he was a good step behind his guy and he made plays by batting the ball in the air. Put him on one of the new faster TE's like a Vernon Davis or the Dallas Clark type and he's toast. _________________

I remember that play. He didnt get roasted. He made the wrong read, and couldn't recover in time. Most MLBs would be toast going against Davis, considering safeties can't even cover him. |

True, which is why I listed the Dallas Clark type as well. Can't think of a specific example but get a guy who's faster than the average TE and McClain's screwed _________________

MLBs shouldn't be in man coverage against TEs to begin with though. Their pass coverage responsibilities usually consist of playing the flats, the RB, or the middle 10 yards beyond the LOS. If your DC is Chuck Bresnahan, then Calvin Johnson too. We have Tyvon Branch to cover the athletic TEs of the league. |
