I don't think Locker will be upset. I think he would love the chance to learn from one of the greatest QB's to ever play. If I was in his shoes, thats how I'd feel. |
I agree. I have no idea why people think a 2nd year QB would EXPECT to take over the franchise. |

Pretty sure that nobody is saying that. Just a side to the situation to ponder, IMO. _________________

I love how some of you guys are certain that Jake Locker will be okay with sitting the bench for 2-5 years or that every FA will be willing to take a pay cut just to play with Manning or Peyton taking less than what he is worth.Or that by sitting the bench for X amount of time he will become Aaron Rodgers.

jake locker doesnt seem like the kind of kid that would complain if he had to sit behind manning but at the same time i doubt he would be excited about it.
Why wouldnt he want to start.
sitting behind manning and learning would be a good experience for him, but it probably wouldnt be his choice if he could get on the field now _________________

Well we can officially call him Lord Peyton if he signs.
| Quote: | Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams tells KHOU 11 Sports reporter Matt Musil that he has offered free agent quarterback Peyton Manning a contract "For Life" to stay in Tennessee.
Manning was in Nashville on Wednesday to meet with Titans head coach Mike Munchak and other team personnel.
Adams, who still lives in Houston, went on to say that because Manning is so well respected in Tennessee, he feels that it would be the perfect spot for the future Hall of Famer to sign.
In addition to the Titans, Manning has visited the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins since being released by the Indianapolis Colts last week.
Bud Adams added that he "feels great" about their chances to land Manning. |

The Tennessee Titans ARE in fact discussing the possibility of making Peyton and Archie Manning minority owners in the organization |
Pathetic to be honest, are we really that desperate?BTW I don't it possible to do that.

Yeah that is truly disgusting. This is what 89 yr old owners do. Make bad decisions. |

Archie? WTF?
Peyton is 110% football, having him in an ownership group probably would be a good thing, actually. |

People are taking the minority ownership thing way too seriously. In the end, does anyone truly believe that Archie Manning would have significant control over the direction this franchise goes? _________________

I know, it's to funny. Wouldn't mind if Peyton was part owner though. He can owner/coach/player for all I care _________________

That's a hell of a sales pitch to me. Im sure the "for life " quote is attached to the ownership part. Manning would never stop making money from the Titans in that essence. _________________

The problem is if Payton wants to play 4 more years, then that is a LOT of time to sit on the bench. By signing Manning (and pulling out all of the stops) it tells Jake that they could care less about his future. When his rookie contract is up he will have 1 year of starting experience (if that). Sure he could be Aaron Rodgers, but even the Packers had to kick Farve to the curb. IF the Titans sign Payton Manning I would imagine that they will call the remaining teams that could use an upgrade at QB and see if they can get a 1st (more likely a 2nd) out of him. Keep Hasselback as the back-up then draft a guy in 2 years to be the replacement for Manning. _________________

What I would have done.
1) Fisher, 3a) Keenan Allen, 3b) Shamarko Thomas, 4) Nico Johnson, 5) Stepfan Taylor, 6a) Nick Kasa, 6b) Taylor Bray, 7) Joe Kruger |
