I’m sure we all heard the Brees interview on Mike and Mike by now… He seemed kinda tired of talking about the situation and maybe a lil bit flustered. Still, he remains very confident the deal will be done soon.

MY TAKE...

I think Drew is actually tired of Peyton Manning situation!

I have always felt that with Condon being the agent of both players he will want to use Manning’s contract to lay the foundation on upfront money for Drew’s contract. I personally believe all sides are simply waiting to get the basics of Peyton’s next contract before a deal with Drew is finalized.

This in the eyes to Condon and Brees makes the most business sense after being slapped with the franchise tag.

Thoughts… Think

Manning is coming off multiple neck surgeries with no guarantees of ever returning to form. I don't think his deal, or lack there of at the moment, has any relevance to Drew's situation. Drew wants money, Saints are being stingy, standoff ensues. The last time Drew played on a 1yr deal, it ended in disaster. He's trying to protect himself, I totally understand if he doesn't want to sign the franchise tender. We'll never know what's really going on behind the scenes. I just hope they resolve it without Drew missing any OTAs.

Am I the only one who found Drew's comments about the last time he played under the franchise tender it dident work out to well for him funny?

I understand the whole 14 anchors in his shoulder and 25% chance of playing football bit, but it was kinda comical to me how he left out who stepped up to the plate and bailed him out when his career was in such disary...

I'm all for rewarding Drew but I also feel that door should swing both ways!
