3 Round Mock Draft 3/19/2012
Numbers are from the combine->Italicized numbers are from pro-days.
*Top performance at position.

ROUND 1
1. IND - Andrew Luck QB STAN 6’4 234 4.67 *Broad Jump
No brainer.
2. WA(STL) - Robert Griffin III QB BAY 6'2 3/8 223 4.41
No brainer
3. MIN - Matt Kalil OT USC 6’6 5/8 306 4.99 34½ arm 10 3/8 hand
Immense talent at a hard to fill position. Last time the Purple drafted this high they took an OT from USC and he went to the Hall of Fame.
4. CLE - Morris Claiborne CB LSU 5'11 1/8 188 4.50 33Ό arms
A rare pair of man-cover corners changes the way CLE can play D.
5. TB - Trent Richardson RB BAMA 5'9Ό 228
Best RB prospect in years. A big time runner for old school coach.
6. STL(WA) - Justin Blackmon WR OK.ST 6'0 7/8 207 4.46
A number one WR for a QB on the comeback.
7. JAC - Nick Perry DE/OLB USC 6’2Ύ 271 4.64 *Bench *Vert
A JAC draft is always a crap-shoot. Perry has rare physical tools which project to hard to find outputs.
8. MIA - Quentin Coples DE UNC 6’5Ύ 284 4.78
Bookend DE for the new 4-3 D.
9. CAR - Fletcher Cox DT MISS.ST 6’4 298 4.79
Big-time athlete with a non-stop motor for a team which needs a DT.
10. BUF – Riley Reiff OT IOWA 6’5Ύ 313 5.23 33Ό 10 1/8
Solid tackle prospect to keep Fitzpatrick upright.
11. KC - Melvin Ingram DE/OLB S.CAR 6’1½ 264 4.79
High rising up-field OLB prospect to complete quality brace of LBs.
12. SEA - Luke Kuechly LB BC 6’3Ό 242 4.58 *Bench
Leader in the middle for an up and coming defense.
13. ARI – Jonathan Martin OT STAN 6’5 3/8 312 34 9 7/8
A LT for a franchise forever searching for one.
14. DAL - David DeCastro OG STAN 6’4 7/8 316 5.43 32 3/8 10*Shuttle *3Cone
Top prospect bringing back the good old days of OL in Big D.
15. PHI - Michael Brockers DT LSU 6’5 322 5.36 35 inch arms
Huge prospect to anchor the middle in Philly.
16. NYJ - Courtney Upshaw DE/OLB BAMA 6’1 5/8 272
Well thought of up-field OLB might not last this long.
17. CIN(OAK)- Dre Kirkpatrick CB BAMA 6’1 5/8 186 4.51
Top 15 CB prospect on the board to replace Joseph.
18. SD - Cordy Glenn OL GA 6’5 345 5.15 35Ύ 10 1/8
Huge versatile OL prospect for an O-line in transition.
19. CHI – Devon Stills DT PENST 6’4 7/8 303 5.08
Huge framed DT who dominated in the Big Ten. CHI needs DTs.
20. TEN - Dontari Poe NT MEM 6’3½ 346 4.98 *Bench (44)
If the freakish Poe drops TEN has had good luck with άber-Talents in the past.
21. CIN - Kendall Wright WR BAY 5'10Ό 196 4.61
Some draft-rubes had Wright in the top ten before the combine. Perfect compliment to Green.
22. CLE (ATL) - Ryan Tannehill QB TA&M 6'3 7/8 221
All signs point to Tannehill going in R1. CLE could use a franchise QB.
23. DET – Mike Adams OT OSU 6’7Ό 323 5.40 34 10 7/8
DET resigned their LT. The massive Adams could play RT while adapting to the league.
24. PIT – Dont’a Hightower MLB BAMA 6’2Ό 265 4.68
PIT needs an MLB. Gets the wunderkind from century’s best college D.
25. DEN - Jerel Worthy DT MSU 6’2 3/8 308 5.08
Worthy is a full-grown man who flashed brilliance in college.
26. HOU - Coby Fleener TE STAN 6'6 247
Copycat league + luxury pick + top-talent at his position.
27. NE(NO) - Michael Floyd WR ND 6'2 5/8 220 4.47
This would be such a good fit that I assume Belichick would pass just to show everyone that he’s smarter than they are.
28. GB – Mark Barron S BAMA 6’1 1/8 213 33 5/8 arms
If Barron falls he could fill a big hole in GB’s D.
29. BAL - Peter Konz C/G WISC 6’5 314 33 9Ό
BAL resigned Birk. Konz can play G while learning from Mr. Harvard.
30. SF - Stephon Gilmore CB S.C. 6’0½ 190 4.40 *3Cone
Great athlete and a good kid. Plug and play guy for SF.
31. NE – Janoris Jenkins CB N.BAMA 5’10 193 4.45
Skilled player at a need position. Pats don’t shy away from personal issues.
32. NYG - Lavonte David LB NEB 6’0 5/8 233 4.65
Rising play-maker who fills a need for the NYG.
ROUND 2

Really like this draft for the Titans. Not really high on Poe for us, but you have a lot of the guys I like going early. Could see us surprising and taking Konz though.

All signs point to the Browns not drafting Tannehill in the 1st round and yea the Browns could use a Franchise but how anyone sees Tannehill as a Franchise QB is beyond me.

If the Lions hold true to the BPA theory the draft should look like Michael Floyd, Lamar Miller (we pick at 54, not 55), and Ben Jones or Brandon Boykin.

I don't really like Jeffery for the Vikings in round two, but the first and third round picks are great.

I don't really care for the Panthers draft.

1. Cox is a bit of reach for us in the first, I think that Floyd, Keuchly, Decastro, or Kirkpatrick should be our pick, barring a fall by Blackmon or Claiborne.

2. WR isn't a need for us unless it's one of the top guys. A CB, OL, or DL would be a good pick for us.

Good Browns picks other than Tannehill.

thanks. I'll adjust the order. Thinking in R3 - many like the Miami LB in late R2. Fits OLB for Cover 2.

Ditto.

Why would we even condor Wright with Floyd still available??

love this scenario for the bucs...I would hope that Trumaine Johnson falls that extra bit, but if not Josh Robinson would look great there Wink

Even if Collins can't come back, I'd imagine the Packers would look more for a free safety so they could move Burnett back over to strong safety.

At that spot, unless they are really high on Reyes, I'd imagine it would be a decision between Konz, Mercilus and Branch, and I'd probably lean Mercilus.
