I love it. Cant take away the fact that they robbed Minnesota of going to the superbowl, but atleast punishment can be justified. there will ALWAYS be an "*" next to that super bowl win.

Not that they aren't screwed already (which is great for Tampa) but if Bree's holds out, how does he get a new deal with no GM? Shocked

You know how the show Spartacus depicts the crowd's roar for blood?

Pretty much my feelings right now Laughing

Bit disappointed they weren't docked a 1st, but I suppose I'll settle for 2 2nds.

Don't expect Williams to be reinstated anytime soon (AKA it'll be longer than Sean Payton).

But DAMN. I think this hurts Payton more than it hurts the Saints.

Pretty sure this sends a message loud and clear to the rest of the league.

Greg Williams = indefinitely? WTF

Are the Rams gonna get compensated for this horse ish?

Highly doubt it.

Rams should essentially be awarded the two Saints' 2nd rounders.

No...

This isn't bad news for the Saints. I expected harsher punishment, especially loosing more draft picks. Payton is a great coach, but Carmichael is a better play caller and Spags can be a good interim Head Coach. Loomis will maybe not be suspended before the draft. The only thing that could change everything, will be Brees decision whether he starts a holdout or not...

I really thought we would loose our whole draft in 12 and more picks in 13 and now we only loose 2 2nd rounders and 500k... But one year for Payton is huge...

Payton suspension seems harsh, but I don't have an issue with it. Sends a message to all coaches that they'll be held responsible, kinda like holding CEOs responsible for fraud.

I'd disagree with that, but I would say the Saints 5th should go to them, and that would be fair. Because really, the Vikings have known about this for years that it was being investigated, so I doubt the Rams didn't know that they might run into issues with Williams being suspended.

I have to think Williams is pretty much banned for life at this point.

Has Brees signed the franchise tag?

Hope he hasn't for his sake. I'd hold out, demand a trade to Miami. Not knocking the Saints or anything, I just feel as if this is going to get worse before it gets better.

Brees is at his peak, and if he doesn't wanna get stuck in a rut while his best football days are ahead of him, it behooves him to head out ASAP. Miami would pay a king's ransom to the Saints in terms of picks (would mitigate the losses of the 2nd rounders) and Brees would get his $23MM a year.

This is sad for the Saints. Their fans deserve better.

What a joke. Cripple Super Bowl contender over some BS and sissies looking on from the outside acting outraged. Are they done? I thought they'd go after the players too.

Yeah, some BS giving your players incentives to hurt others even CART THEM OFF THE FIELD. Rolling Eyes

Should be banned from NFL.

Injure them with legal hits. If the hits are legal it shouldn't matter what your goal is.
