Well we were right at the time...he hadn't lived up to his potential. To his credit, he's worked hard and turned into a fine starter for the past couple of months. |
He was a fine starter before the back issue. I thought it was just all health problems with him.

We're only 1 GB from a top 10 (protected) draft pick with a pretty difficult schedule the rest of the way:
3 @ A's
3 @ Mariners
3 vs Blue Jays
3 vs Yankees
3 @ Blue Jays
4 @ Rays
3 vs Orioles
2 vs Rays
3 @ Orioles
3 @ Yankees
It feels wrong to root against your team, but it would be cool to have a top pick (even if it isn't a great draft), and also more importantly, the more we lose, the less likely it is Bobby V comes back.

Yup, it's a really tough group to like. With Papi and WMB out, there aren't too many likeable players currently playing. And having to see Bobby's face everyday and be reminded hes still around is no joy.

Darvish would quite easily be our best pitcher. Looks like we missed the boat by, oh, 5 years. Dice-K would be lucky to find a Major League contract in 2013.
I'm really itching for this season to end. I bought the MLB.TV full season package at the beginning of the season, but damn man, I have no interest in watching this team that is run so half-assedly by Valentine and that cannot pitch worth a damn.

I haven't watched a full game in a while, and the only time I even want to watch is on days Buck is pitching. I've watched more Yankees games in the past few weeks than Red Sox games. Rooting for a Yankee collapse is the only thing we have left.
