The cost of acquiring Stanton would be astronomical. Probably 3 or 4 of: Middlebrooks, Bogaerts, Bradley, Barnes, Rubby DLR.
Also, how can you not love Xander Bogaerts?
Strong name. Big time power potential. Premium position (for now at least). What's not to love? _________________

I agree. I'd consider Bo, Barnes and Rubby and see where it takes us. Would it be worth it? Perhaps. Imagine him in Fenway...
I don't hate Bo, but I just don't think he's going to stay anywhere near SS on the diamond. Love the power, I just don't know if he's the kind of player who's going to fully develop. _________________

stantons worth any combo. He is 23. Premier power hitter for at least the next decade barring injury. 10 seasons is a while. _________________

We have a respectable 6 players in MLB.com's top 100 prospects.
Xander Bogaerts (20)
Jackie Bradley (32)
Matt Barnes (38)
Allen Webster (71)
Henry Owens (94)
Jose Iglesias (96) _________________

We snagged Mike Carp from the M's for a PTBNL/cash. Carp should provide a useful bench bat against lefties as his .300/.341/.462 line v. southpaws looks promising. I'm glad we didn't surrender Aceves. _________________

Our lineup is going to kill lefties. I'm optimistic for this season and really looking forward to seeing all the new guys. BP's PECOTA projections has us finishing second in the division with 86 wins, and a tie for the second wildcard. I know it doesn't mean a whole lot, but I do think people are discounting this team entirely, and they could surprise some people. _________________

Geez, Lackey did drop some weight. Hopefully that bodes well for him.
I guess Middlebrooks' wrist injury wasn't too major, apparently he took BP today. _________________

Thoughts on Crawfors comments?
Boston is tough but, DUDE you were nervous and swetty during your signing. I knew he couldn't handle the pressure off the bat. ( No pun intended ) _________________

Lester-Sabathia tomorrow. Can't wait. Jackie is our opening day LF! Great to see him already in the bigs, but let's see how he starts out. Jonny Gomes will be the DH with Ortiz out. _________________

No new thread for 2013? Lots of bad memories in this one.
Psyched for tomorrow. Really excited to see our young guys this season. Aside from JBJ and Middlebrooks we should see Allen Webster and Rubby De La Rosa at some point this season, with an outside shot at seeing Matt Barnes and Xander Bogaerts as well. _________________
