Lol people have been saying this forever. We should also pick up McNabb since he's still a FA. Is Torry Holt still in shape? How about Matt Jones?
I get that since we have Marshall Owens wouldn't be relied on, but that's where the problem lies. He wouldn't be the #1 getting all the receptions and would throw a hissy fit. And we all know that Marshall isn't a timid little boy, he'll talk/fight back which would cause a horrible situation for the locker room.
That's a negative, ghost rider. _________________ Martellus Bennet highlight video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lP8fHN53t0 |

That's a negative, ghost rider. | I'm not really afraid that Owens will be a negative. But not real interested either. |

I heard Miller talking about this on Sirius last week, like he mentions in his article.
In retrospect, this would have been a good idea three or four years ago. Of course, I was totally against the idea at the time... |

Id be just fine giving him a shot at the league min ! If healthy, he could easily put us over the top and give us more draft flexibility
....if not oh well, pretty simple move
talk about a zero, no risk/very high reward potential move..
absolute no-brainer if he's healthy IMO |

I believe in TO and wouldnt be surprised at all if we brought him in.
He's only had great production everywhere he has played.....so why not give him a chance to play with Jay and along side Marshall
It costs us NOTHING to try it out, but lets say he beasts like he has everywhere he has ever played......and gives us 70-80 catches
If he's a problem at all, cut his a$$
Im not some TO fan hoping to see him a Bears uniform or anything, I just know the guy can play/still play if he's healthy... |

| and we could really use the band-aid at the position to focus on a couple other needs at least until we know how every thing will go with Knoxs health and impending free-agency.. |

I've never understood why people look at aging superstars like TO as if they're still in their prime. Same thing with Marvin Harrison a few years back, LTII, etc.
I don't care that they're going to make the Hall of Fame. By 35 and over, they're rarely (if ever) an asset.
TO is 38, NOT 22. It doesn't matter who he USED to be, only what he is now, and what he is now isn't a worthwhile investment. |

The last time he was given the opportunity to play in the NFL, he was 17 yds shy of 1000....no one thinks he'll be what he "USED" to be (I wouldnt even want him if he was what he used to be....because then he would be bringing the circus to town with him lol), but it's a very real possibility, since the league has turned it's back on him, that he'll come in, shutup, and play hard........he's fully capable of giving us 70+ catches with a QB like Jay and a running mate like Marshall to feed off of....
and if this minimal investment doesn't pan out so what !! Cut him
......this is what Im suggesting |

Yeah, let's sign him and Braylon and we can have that dynamic duo lined up with B-Marsh.
Ooooo and TJ Hous, Plax, AND Mike Sims-Walker are still out there. Look at all of the awesome receivers that no other team has touched but would kill it playing in Chicago! 5WR sets nobody would be able to stop! |
