Same with Reiff. No way that Cordy Glenn is a better prospect than them.

Some people want to bring in all their family and just chill at home; while others want to take in the whole experience by going to New York. Just depends on the player.

Mark Sanchez also declined an invitation a few years ago.

I think you guys are kind of looking at this wrong.

Telling by that list and the fact that Thursday is only 1 round. It looks like the NFL WANTS guys in the green room for day 2. Almost kind of like splitting the draft into 2 primetime events entirely.

I still wouldnt go though if I was one of the day 2 guys, getting super fresh 2 days in a row and bringing all your family out and stuff for 2 nights in a row seems like a hassle

This was my thinking as well. They want to increase viewership by having two primetime events. It looks like it's separated into the top 1st and top 2nd round options- with a few guys likely missing because they'd rather stay home with their families.

This is a smart marketing decision by the NFL. It also gives the more "casual" fans that watch the draft an opportunity to see more NFL "faces" and therefore it increases the marketability of those faces to those same casual fans in the future. Like I said, smart marketing decision... I don't like Goodell, but he sure knows how to market the hell out of the NFL brand...

Randle?

Mark Herzlich got invited last year and went undrafted...That has to be some kind of record.

He had cancer... I suspect they wanted to tell/capitalize on his story

Tannehill is the one I see getting awkward to watch. I don't think he'll be the last one out of the green room but is going to fall a lot further than expected and it's going to be the most visible as teams who need QBs pass on him.

I 100% guarantee you that Tannehill does NOT fall out of the top 10.

It's almost comical to me that Tannehill will get selected higher than Aaron Rodgers did. What in the world I don't even...

Tannehill is not even half the prospect Ryan Mallett was IMO and he's a top 10?? I feel sorry for the team that thinks he's worth that high a pick.

Tannehill has the advantage of not being a complete [inappropriate/removed] and coke fiend when scouts evaluate him.

Yeah, he was he complete "coke fiend" when he was evaluated....Riiiight!

Anyone can gladly sig quote me on this and I'll have no problem eating crow later on it if he proves me wrong...Ryan Tannehill is NOT a franchise QB...Not worth a 1st round anything...I'm saying no way in hell.

Ryan Mallett did cocaine in college. This is well-established. This, on top of his terrible interviews, took him from a potential 1st round pick to a 3rd round pick.

Tannehill will be a far better QB than Griffin. You can quote me on that.

Yeah I heard the rumors but don't act like he was a fiend when he was evaluated by scouts at the combine cause that's just untrue.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/27/ryan-mallett-gets-rave-reviews-for-combine-effort/

This is not about Mallett for me though. I just used Mallett as an example of what talent as a prospect looks like regardless of his attitude or past.

I'm talking about the level of talent that's being thrust up the draft boards due to a weak QB class. It's baffling to me that Tannehill is even being considered taken in the top ten. I watched his games and saw no such thing as a franchise QB. Potential sure but a lot of guys have that.

The better than Griffin thing...I don't know what to tell you. Not sure if your an A&M fan or what and just sticking up for your boy but...ugh, I don't have the words for that comment.

Between New England, Baltimore, San Francisco, and Green Bay, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see McClelin go late rd 1. All have a need at OLB in the 3-4 and McClelin is a great fit in that scheme.

Damn, this means that even more picks are going to be spoiled by them showing the phone call before the pick is even announced! Evil or Very Mad

One would think that the NFLN and ESPN would have been approached by the NFL to ensure the media coverage of the draft/players does not show their hands before the announcements. It does devalue the Draft when both networks are competing as to who can get the scoop first. All it would take is camera's not being shown in the green room until the last 30 seconds, minute or Goodell walking across the stage. Here's a novel thought ,no camera's period until the pick? Have analyst at the draft not say well it looks like ????? is going to !!!!!, here's the commish? Then show the green room highlights afterward while on the clock for the next pick. It's really not that complicated a process if indeed they wanted to fix it.

Some have suggested just listen to it on the radio.

I do agree with your post, and would really like it if they save the suspense until the commish announces the pick live.

I'd much rather have Tannehill over Mallett.
