Am I the only one that thinks that NFL Draft should be more entertainment based?

Why not have an Emcee? I don't care how you feel about the guy but Justin Timberlake did a great job on the ESPYs. Get an entertainer out there. I'm tired of hearing Kiper's hoarse voice after the 8th pick in the draft. I'm tired of Roger Goodell's monotone robotic delivery of each pick. Have some celebrities, former players, current players announce the first round pick. Let Goodell announce the first one if he needs to have his ego stroked.

I dunno - if the NFL wants to generate revenue - shouldn't they make it appealing to the serious NFL Draftniks AND casual fans that also want to be entertained. The analysis and everything is great but last year I felt like they have 17 guys saying the same thing. Oh and it's the same stuff we've all been hearing on NFLN and ESPN for the last 2 months. I'm pretty confident the only thing I don't know about Andrew Luck is whether he wears boxers or briefs. And I don't care to find out either.

Any love for this idea? I'm not saying ditch the pure football aspect altogether but can't you make it a little more exciting. I feel like I'm Ben Stein in Ferris Buehler's Day Off announce every pick. "Griffin... Griffin... Griffin..." There's room for a lot of improvement. The NFL is a sport but it doesnt' have to be devoid of entertainment either. I love the draft and I'll watch it either way. Can we at least get something else other than the bland stand-by. The NFL moved the first round to its own day - why not make it a big ordeal? The rounds after that will likely only be watched by more intense fans and that's when you really want analysis when your team selects somebody out of some obscure conference. That's when I need Kiper there - not to tell me that Kalil played OT at USC with Tyron Smith... You don't say?

No - it's not an award show, we don't need Justin Timberlake or Ricky Gervis out there announcing the picks, making stupid one liners and dumb puns about college kids whos' life dream was just achieved.

Agreed. The NFL Draft is an NFL team making a serious business decision with millions of dollars involved. It's not the Grammy's and in reality, it's not even supposed to be a fan event, though it has become one due to it's popularity.

The whole purpose of the NFL is to be a fan event though. Not saying I think it's a great idea and it could really much things up if someone drops the ball on a pick somehow.

Regarding JT, I'm not sure the nfl is his biggest fan...

I won't be sorry when the Ravens finish 8-8.
