Round 1 Pick 25 Overall- Michael Brockers DT LSU- Denver has to upgrade the middle of the defense. Michael Brockers is raw in the pass rushing department but dominates in the run game. He will be solid at the very least and has Marcus Stroud type potential.
Round 2 Pick 57 Overall- Brock Osweiler QB Arizona State- We can debate the wisdom of this pick. However, I fully expect Osweiler to be a Bronco, if he is available at 57.
Round 3 Pick 87 Overall- Casey Hayward CB Vanderbilt- Denver could still use some depth in the secondary. Hayward is a good young corner that could be a steal at 87.
Round 4 Pick 108 Overall- Mike Martin DT Michigan- Martin reminds me of a Leroi Glover. He isn’t the biggest guy in the world. However, he is so strong at the point of attack he will be great as a run stuffer. I think he will surprise a lot of people in the NFL.
Round 4 Pick 120 Overall- Vick Ballard RB Mississippi State- Ballard often gets overlooked but he is a very good back. He is a good blocker and has potential in the passing game. He lacks the top gear which is why he falls to the 4th round.
Round 5 Pick 137 Overall- Tom Compton OT/OG South Dakota- Denver still needs depth on the OL. Compton can play both guard and tackle positions. He will be a great swing man. _________________

I like Martin in the 4th, but I really think he goes earlier. I'd hate Osweiler in the 2nd though. In the 3rd I wouldn't be as against it. Like Hayward a lot. Overall I like it with the exception of Osweiler. _________________ Broncos-Bulls-Cubs-CU-Blackhawks |

I understand a lot of people's trepadations. However, I firmly believe that he is the pick if he is available. I think it is more likely for Denver to trade up for Osweiler than pass on him at 57 _________________

I do agree. I think EXF really like Osweiler, I just think we should address more pressing needs. I think it's realistic to include him in the draft, I just hope it doesn't happen.
I disagree about Denver trading up for him though. I think Denver will only trade up if they see a player like Worthy, Still, etc. falling or if they fall in love with a DT like Reyes and in the 1st we went CB or other another position. _________________ Broncos-Bulls-Cubs-CU-Blackhawks |

Cringe.....I fear you might be right. I've come to loathe the idea of taking a QB in this draft, at any point.
I'll re-post what I said in 7DnBrnc53's mock thread.
I also have soured on the idea of taking a QB. While I'm not wild about Caleb Hanie and Adam Weber as our only backups, I think it'd be a waste of a pick to take a QB this year. Everyone says, myself included up until a few weeks ago, to get a QB in the middle-to-late rounds to develop behind Peyton for a few years. Problem is, Peyton takes 99% of the snaps in practice - and will need to this year being on a new team, in a different scheme and with a new surrounding cast - so what is said rookie "developmental" QB going to do? Secondly, rookies get a 4-year contract and there's a good chance Peyton plays here for four more years. Thus when Peyton retires and our rookie QB's time has come, he's a free agent who we know nothing about since he hasn't played and has barely practiced.
I think there's a good chance we do take a QB and someone like Osweiler is a very real option. I just don't think it would be a good idea and EXF come around to my way of thinking before it's too late. If they're not comfortable with Hanie and Weber, sign a veteran journeyman after the draft. _________________ big_palooka:

I was hoping our future QB is a least still in college for another year or two. _________________
