| If Dre Kirkpatrick or Stephon Gilmore are gone before pick 25 or if Janoris Jenkins is gone before our second round pick, I bet EXF definitely make this trade happen. |

You might be right, at least it would seem sensible. _________________

Can't find anything to confirm it on the web. His tweet seems cryptic at best. I can't decipher intent from such few characters. (tweets can drive me nuts! ) _________________ http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii301/legendsOFanime/FOOTBALL/ffmd2011dirofcollegescouting.gif |

I voted 'Hell Yeah'. Here's why...
Surprised it hasn't come up yet. But could EXF have come into some info on Porter being one of the many players to possibly be suspended from NO for the bounty program? I've hated this signing from day one for the shear possibility of a possible suspension. But aside from that, I'd rather have Asante anyhow. He is a play-maker, and playing opposite Champ, he would get more opportunities then any in his career. Not to mention he is better then Porter. _________________ 1-Denver Broncos

Looks like someone tweeted the rumour to Decker and Eric like it so he retweeted it. Nothing to get excited IMO. _________________

| the more quality corners on the roster the better in my opinion. no more wilhites please... if he takes a pay cut then im all for it. thats the only way he will become a bronco. bailey, porter, samuel, harris, thompson, & vaughn. pretty good depth i think. maybe draft a cb in the middle of the draft also |

Re: Samuel's bad reputation
Have a look at the second set of stats in this PFF article:
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/01/12/cornerbacks-a-glance-at-the-2011-numbers/
What you'll find is that when it comes to completion percentage allowed, Asante finished Top-10... Tracy Porter's in the Bottom 10. Food for thought.
Asante also came in 2nd to Revis in QB Rating allowed. _________________ Go Broncos. |

i say yes also..
champ bailey
asante samuel
tracy porter
chris harris
this is a passing league, and with these 4 CB i would be very excited, and still have Vaughn and squid, we then grab a coupke DT in draft and are looking good..i think it gets donr for our 2nd 4th or 5th and he restructures to meet in the middle.. |

This would also be great with expectation that the offense is going to put up numbers, and the other team playing from behind. If they have to pass to catch up...well good luck. _________________ Ninja stealth muggers in the Bellagio has left me in a state of congitive disonance... |

Not interested. We already have one overpaid cornerback, I see no need to get another who is drastically inferior. I despise corners who aren't good in run support and surely the Eagles showed last year how great an idea investing all the team's money into corners is. I give a big "no" this move. Especially when Samuel will soon be entering the downside of his career in all likelyhood. _________________ Stop slobbering over Brian Dawkins |

Are you inferring that Champ is overpaid? I'm sorry, but when you consider Eric Wright has a contract for 7.5 million per year from the Bucs and the boatload that Dallas paid for Brandon Carr, Champ has a better value contract at eight-nine per year. |

Not being an aficionado of all things Brandon Carr I don't want to get into an argument about how his game compares to Champ's or whatever. Suffice to say, both players you named are younger than Champ Bailey and that is a big(and justified in my opinion) part of the reason their contracts are seemingly large.
Also, two wrongs don't make a right etc. Do you really want examples of quality corners who are better values? I could use the formulaic Ike Taylor example as a solid corner(who is great in run support by the way, Pittsburgh knows what they're doing) or I could name Jonathan Joseph as a guy who is 5 years younger than Champ and far better. I don't see the point though. Simply put, not every cornerback makes astronomical numbers(not yet at least) for their relative impact and yes I do think Champ Bailey is overpaid. He's still good thankfully, and if he ages better than expected the contract will be less bad, but yes he is still an overpaid player in my eyes.
But since you took this particular track by focusing on other highly paid corners, I should state what I implied earlier that I believe the value of corners is wildly overvalued by people. _________________ Stop slobbering over Brian Dawkins |

Sure, its overvalued just as much as an quarterback, offensive tackle, and pass rusher, but the reason for this is because those four positions are the four most important positions on the team. While you say that corners are wildy overvalued, it wouldn't be hard to argue that the reason the Pats lost the SuperBowl was due to their corners: Devin McCourty, Sterling Moore, Antwaun Molden, and Julian Edelman. |
