Reports are now that the Eagles are only asking for a 6th rounder for Samuel, I think it would be a great move to make. Pair him up with Gamble and we have 2 great CB's. It sounds like the way Rivera and Hurney are talking about the draft, wanting to draft players that will immediatley have an impact this season, believe they're in a win now mode. So making a deal for a win now type player makes sense. Imagine having Gamble on the #1, Asante on the #2, and Hogan in the nickel. Also Asante played under Mcdermott, so they are both familiar with each other. We'd just need to restructure that deal.
Our starting defense should look like this is if was up to me come week 1.
DE-Johnson
DT-Cox (draft)
DT-Edwards (rotating McClain/Fua)
DE-Hardy
OLB-Davis
MLB-Beason
OLB-Anderson
CB-Gamble
CB-Samuel
FS-Godfrey (move him back to his natural position)
SS-H.Smith (somehow drops to us in the 2nd round) |

Agreed....
But here is what everyone will now say....
He is too old and too expensive.
Which is why he is going for a sixth. _________________ Asst. GM - Carolina Panthers

I wouldn't mind giving up a sixth but at 11 million his contract would have to be cut in half and even that might not be enough for us to afford him. _________________

| If we can afford him and he can still play well I'd give up a sixth round pick for him. He may not be around for a long time but the same can be said for a sixth rounder. |

I would rather steer clear of him. Just too many negatives when thinking about bringin him in. _________________

It would be nice to have him but at 11 million i don't think so & this guy heading toward the downside of his career & Philly was talking about moving him to safety. _________________

I would bring him in. Him paired with Gamble would be a great duo. His price tag is too much for us. We have no room under the cap to sign him. I wish he would play here if it's possible. I have always liked this guy. He brings a swagger to the position and he's tough as hell. _________________ "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood

I will be very upset if the Falcons actually get this guy and we don't even try to pursue him. Robinson and Samuel? Goodnight Carolina passing game vs ATL _________________

Brent Grimes just signed his tender with them, he's been their best corner for 2 years. If they made a move for Samuel, they'd be getting rid of Robinson. _________________

price is too much for us. $6 mill for an aging cb. can't afford that. just gotta hope one of our young cbs steps up or draft one depending on who falls _________________

And good morning, Carolina running game.
Doesn't make a difference to me how we get it done as long as we get it done. _________________
