Hey everyone. Back for my annual mock draft. It may be a bit optimistic, but whats the point in creating a mock draft if you can't hope a little. If the rounds these guys are taken aren't correct, they are at least players I think the 49ers should target during the draft. Let me know what you guys think of it.
1. Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford
The NFL is a copycat league, and the 9ers aren't an exception. Having a TE combo of Fleener and Davis would create mismatches all over the field. Considering the TE heavy formations that we run, this would be a great fit.
2. Amini Silatolu, G/T , Midwestern State
Not sure if he will fall this far, but I'll be crossing my fingers. There seem to be a lot of interior lineman that will be taken before him, so it may be possible. As much as I want Davis to move to guard, I don't think the 9ers make that move. Whatever the case, OL has to be addressed early in this draft. I think Silatolu would be a great player to plug at G to give us a physical offensive line to work with.
3. Jared Crick, DE, Nebraska
I don't feel as though we have much quality depth along the DLine. This guy would be a great backup to Justin Smith as his age creeps higher.
4. Tommy Streeter, WR, Miami
There's no need to jump on a WR right away in this draft as there is quality at the position that can be found in rounds 2-4. Streeter has the size and speed that fits our offense and will be able to replace moss whenever our relationship with him ends.
5. Asa Jackson, DB, Cal Poly
This guy’s got some pretty good cover skills. I think he could fit in at CB or FS- Places we could use some extra depth.
6. Ryan Miller, G/T, Colorado
More depth along the OL will be necessary. This guy was once a blue chip recruit out of HS and think he can develop with better coaching. He has experience at both T and G. I’m a recent CU graduate myself so maybe I just wanna see some familiar blood on the 9ers...
7. Jacquies Smith, DE/OLB, Missouri
We have a severe lack of depth at OLB and are going to have to find one somewhere in the draft. I like Smith in the later rounds as a guy that could make the roster.

All names that people like on this site so I'm sure it'll receive a good grade from most. However, I really don't see Silatolu being there, with rumors now theres a slight chance he won't even make it to our pick at 30 so I can't see him making it anywhere near 61.
If this draft happened I'd be happy, but to me it seems like the same exact players everyone else has put in their mocks so it just doesn't give me much excitement anymore _________________

It is... VERY... very good. Hard to believe that all of these guys would be available where they are... but IF they are and we select them?

Clean Up, aisle Frisco$finest!!!!
Doesnt seem likely though. That is 9/10 by the first 4 picks alone. Really want to see us draft Bernard Pierce. _________________ "You look up and you see us shining down on you...." - Lupe Fiasco |
