You all know his extensive rap sheet, so there's no need for me to get any of you up to speed on it.
But keeping that in mind and hearing what RM had to say regarding the draft board, about staying true to the board and aiming for players that can compete for a starting job with our 5 picks. I don't believe RM can afford to drop any single player out of the draft board, especially this year.
Let's just say for discussion reasons, he slips out of the first. Second round comes by and not a sniff. Third round comes up and as each pick is announced, the name of Janoris Jenkins does not come up.
Pick #95 comes up and Janoris Jenkins is on board. Will RM snatch him? If what RM says is true and he's true to the board, how would you react if he is selected? Would you take a chance if you were RM and make the phone call to take up to the podium?
This is nothing new. Just last year there was Jimmy Smith who physically, is what you look for in a CB. The year prior to that there was an undersized TE who slipped to the 4th by the name of Aaron Hernandez.
I, personally would be ecstatic if he was available. If we were to pass him up I'd probably shut off the TV and would wait till preseason to see who else we picked up in the draft.
The kid is good. He has a passion for the game and loves to play football. I can only hope RM does his homework on him and takes a chance on him if he somehow miraculously slips that far.

idk man...another CB? whatever. Not like any of this years rookies will do much for us this season anyways. I personally would like a DT or OG. _________________

Here's the thread for those who know nothing about this guy. I didn't. This is the kinda of guy the Raiders would have taken 20 years ago when we had strong leaders in the locker room. He won't see the Silver & Black.

HUMMM...A good question...
If Both he a Chapman are there at our pick, I'm going with the injured Chapman as he will be playing the next year and many more. Jenkins could have Pacman type problems that make him more of a distraction. If he was there after taking Chapman in the 4th then sure. actually I'd probably take him with our 3rd but NOT above Chapman. Injuries heal. Stupidity/Immaturity, not so much. |

| I think RM would go for him, I get the impression he's not overly put off by such stuff (e.g. one of his first signings Underwood) |

Jenkins loves weed more than football. Absolutely not. McKenzie would lose a lot of credibility with me as he has cited character as a priority. _________________ 2013 Mancrush: DT Richardson, OT Joeckel, FS Vaccaro, FS Rambo, WR Dobson, RB Michael, TE McDonald, OT Foketi, WR Swope |

If he's there and is BPA at 95, Reggie will take him.

You say that, but that's the case if we had a 1st and a 2nd. We don't have them, so our #95 pick will be our 1st round pick and you cannot take a flyer with that first pick. The fact that we only have 5 picks makes the chances of us not taking him even higher.
5 picks will be BPA, however if they are good football players but unreliable human beings, the I can guarantee we're picking someone else. Why pick someone who has a chance of being suspended by the league when you cannot afford to have any dookie selections? _________________
RIP Al Davis. Thank you for this team.
We NEED to trade back and acquire more picks! Please Allah!... And Reggie |

I think its moot because he will be long gone, but if hes there and we are confident that hes going to stop the shenanigans then I wouldnt mind the pick. The guy has cover skills, he shut down AJ Green and Julio Jones while at Florida, and we dont exactly have the CB position figured out long term. I think im ok with it because I feel like this year is a rebuilding year so I dont think we necessarily have to have a guy that makes an immediate impact.
Were building for the future and a guy like Jenkins could be a great building block long term. Again this would only be acceptable if the staff thinks the trouble is behind him. _________________

We have the players to keep him out of trouble. If he's there in the 3rd I say yes.
1st round talent in the 3rd, the pats and ravens pick bpa so should we. |
