Yes the unthinkable could happen with either Kahlil or Blackmon failing, or we could conceivably trade down for the likes of Cordy Glenn. But with just three short days remaining until the draft, most believe it's down to three...
Rilley Reiff - OT, Iowa
David DeCastro - OG, Stanford
Michael Floyd - WR, Notre Dame
I'm not asking you who you want, but who you BELIEVE will be the pick come Thursday night. I'm willing to bet at least two of these individuals will be available come pick #13.
So who's it going to be? _________________

Kalil's not falling to 13. Kiper nailed that, 0% chance he gets by Buffalo. Just saying.
If he's available, have to go with Floyd. I just feel like our coaching staff is uber high on the kid and would pull the trigger if he's there for them. _________________

For the Melvin Ingram homers, just for reference, Mike Mayock has bumped Boise OLB Shea Mcclellin as his top 3-4 OLB going into this weekend. _________________

I have had Shea Mcclellin as my top OLB for some time now but that besides the point.
I don't see Michael Floyd getting to Arizona I think someone will trade up for him or he gets taken by one of the teams that need a WR. Rilley Reiff may or may not be there so i voted on David DeCastro OG. _________________

I just can't see them taking a guard first round. I believe they have Snyder penciled in as a starter for the foresable future and do not wish to see him playing RT (even though they claim he can). _________________

That's what I'm thinking right now as well and it makes sense. Snyder a guard is a servicable football player. He's not David DeCastro but he's a servicable professional football player. At RT, he's no better than Brandon Keith. Wanting to keep him inside makes a lot of sense. _________________

Arizona has all so shown that they will go BPA. Who do you take if Michael Floyd and Rilley Reiff are both gone. I guess it depends on how highly rate DeCastro is on the bored. Snyder should not be the reason they do not draft DeCastro. The guy 30 year old and as far as I can tell last season was his only good season. They took Ryan Williams Last year when they had no need for him so I could see the same for DeCastro depending on who gone. _________________

While true, in fairness, we created the need for Williams when trade transactions were eventually allowed. We're not gonna do the same at guard. We're not trading Daryn Colledge or Adam Snyder. _________________

So your telling me you rather see Arizona reach for a player then take DeCastro. I don't believe Michael Floyd gets to Arizona. Rilley Reiff may or may not be there. So if both are gone you don't think Arizona will take the best guard in the last decade because we have two average 30 year old guards on the team. I be very disappoint in the team if that is the case. _________________

Absolutely not but if either Floyd or Reiff are there, DeCastro's not a Cardinal. That's probably how it's gonna go. _________________

That's exactly how I see it and that's how it should be imo. I voted for Floyd. |

This is how rational people think, but we don't know HOW Grimm and company are viewing the offensive line situation.
They've ignored it for years, and contiually praise the unit, often times speculating that better quarterback play would enhance the credibility of the group.
Bottom line: They came out and said Snyder was the guy they coveted in free agency. So they went out and signed him, and MOST LIKELY, expect him to be a starter. Period.
That leaves little hope/room for my favorite player in this entire draft, David DeCastro. _________________

That's only valid as an irrational view if the players they target outside of DeCastro are of much lesser quality. In Floyd and Reiff, that doesn't apply. Two extremely high talent players. _________________

Right, of course. I was saying, for instance, if both were gone. The two weakest areas on the team are offensive line and WR depth/quality behind Larry.
If both Reiff and Floyd are gone, DeCastro should be the pick at #13. He's the only quality player left at either weak spot worth taking there.
With Blackmon and Floyd both gone, and Glenn being a possible trade down option, DeCastro is the most sensible selection, rational selection.
Luke Kuechly is similiar to all in terms of quality compared to the previous three players discussed, but ILB is not a weak position on this team. That's why I'd take DeCastro over someone like Kuechly. _________________

I would disagree as to the bolded. The rest of it I understand and agree with but if Floyd/Reiff/Blackmon/etc. ARE available, it's pretty much gonna be no DeCastro from the looks of things. And that make sense on a lot of levels. _________________
