Gaffney is scheduled to make $2.65 million in 2012.

At age 31, Gaffeny recorded career highs 68 catches for 947 yards and 5 TDs last season and is a very capable receiver still.

What are the Redskins asking for him? He's an 11th year guy signed for 1 more year. On the one hand he's coming off his career year, on the other he's not a long term solution anywhere. I'd think the Rams, Jaguars, Browns and perhaps the 49ers or Bengals would be interested.

Yeah im confused by that aswell, I can see both our starting receivers changing next year. With regards to Gaffney cant see us getting more than a 6/7 in all honesty

If you need receiver help in a bad way, I think Gaffney is very attractive. He's inexpensive, he's particularly efficient as an intermediate threat and probably one of the better low cost possession receivers out there.

If you are drafting a second or third round receiver in this draft, I would think there should be some interest in acquiring Gaffney to allow for a maturation period. Whether the team can get anything close to a fourth round pick for him is somewhat suspect, but I hope that happens.

For what? A 4th no way. If somebody calls you with a low 5th Allen will say deal and hang up as soon as possible.

Cap hit would be alot for another team to take on for what amounts to a slot receiver.

And this move is just to make room for Broyles Cool

Cut Moss after June 1st and we'd save money IIRC

I anticipate he will be kept unless the team drafts a mid-round receiver (Broyles). Ideally, trading Moss allows the team to draft a replacement. I'm indifferent about keeping Moss considering his untimely drops and the additions this off-season. If Hankerson can play at any point this season at a healthy level, Moss and Gaffney should both go.

He could be kept but yes the draft will be interesting and how it is handled. If cut after June 1st his cap changes as well so that bears watching

Because of the reports that Moss will most likely be counted on to be the slot receiver this season.
