After the Eagles GM Howie Roseman said, regarding QB Nick Foles, that Andy loves to draft a QB's. It got me thinking how often should a team, franchise QB or not, draft a QB? Some years you could take a guy in the 6th who will most likely be a career back-up, or take a guy in the 3rd or 4th who is raw but could one day develop into a starter, or draft a guy in the 1st to be THE guy. Are you willing to sacrifice a draft pick on a guy that has no special teams potential or no real value to your team early even if you have a guy like Rodgers or Brady? Personally, drafting a QB every 3 years sounds like a good idea, you never know when you can strike gold.

I voted every year until you have a Franchise guy. That does not mean you are drafting a guy in the first round every year, but guys who will compete and who you feel have the skillset to be a top notch QB.

Once you have that Franchise guy 6th and 7th round picks are a prime spot to pick up a "falling" QB that you like and either groom him into a backup or into a future starter for another team (via trade).

Quarterback is the single most important position in any team sport, you need to sort through a lot of arms to find a guy who can carry your team.

No set timeline, but a team should always be ready to pull the trigger on a QB in any given year regardless of whether it has a franchise guy or not. Ron Wolf wrote the book on drafting late round QBs and trading them away from premium picks.

With the new rookie scale, every year, until you have your Franchise QB, then keep taking them for more picks later on.

Like Ron Wolf said, take a guy late on every year if there's one you like.

Because even if you just hit once every two decades, that's enough.

Miami and Buffalo are prime examples of why a team needs to continue DEVELOPING multiple young QBs. You don't want to suffer long dips in production out of the QB position once your franchise starter ends his employment with the team. So teams should always look to draft QBs in the 2nd - 4th rounds even when they have an elite starter.

I'm big on QB's, and I'd draft one every year, later rounds, as back ups, and trade whoever isn't in the top 3 come preseason.
