Hell no, this guy belongs in a DT spot. He looked good from a DE standup position, but when he was in the middle and in the three point stance I saw him with reaction time, strength, holding his position, and getting after the QB when it was his call to go put someone on their back.
DT all the way. |

Based off the highlight videos, I like Burris the most. _________________

Nah, he's the next John Henderson
Edit: actually, coming out Henderson was 6-7 306. Ended up at 335. If biukidi throws on 10-15 lbs to be 320-324 I think he can absolutely be a legit NT. Time will tell. _________________

I don't care what you call him as long as he stops the run. _________________

Sike. AC has a non stop motor as well, and his intensity is 2nd to none on the Oakland D. Hittin Tebow in the mouth, punching the goal post, knocking out an All-pro LT, etc....
if anything Wheeler might have to watch out. But AC? Naaaaaaaah _________________

i like penn state and he def looks like a nfl DE he has had some injuries and is hella raw but when he is on he is on and almost unstoppable like vrs ohio state last year. once he develops into his body he will beast imo. he is so beastly he doesnt need eyebrows lol

Thanks. Would be nice to see what he does if he bulks up a bit, seems a bit low on the weight considering his height. _________________

My two favourite picks are:
1. Bergstrom - system fit, high character guy, will hopefully upgrade Carlisle. If he pans out, as I am sure he will, our O-line is looking solid, with only a bit of a question mark at RT - though both Barnes and Barksdale are better than Cornell Green.
2. Criner - We didn't really need a WR, but he is the type of WR we were missing (if that makes sense). Hopefully is Chaz Schilens without the injuries. This is really good value.
Burris is also a decent pick, but might excel more in a 3-4, Crawford and Bilikuliodi (sp) look a little like projects with massive upside (but this is where you pick guys like this, not in the high rounds like we used to ) |

I'm generally numb to the entire draft. I think McKenzie drafted specific ingredients to make a dish that is currently unfamiliar to me at the moment whereas before Uncle AL would purchase exotic ingredients and expect a novice chef or veggie chopper (ie rookie HC) to make something spectacular that would change food culture.
I used to be impatient as I knew the former philosophy wouldn't work. Many of players drafted were polarizing and fans had strong opinions and prejudgements. However, I am content to give McKenzie a 12 month grace period as MANY others have stated these prospects can best be classified as conservative selections that don't draw strong criticism although initially leave you feeling underwhelmed. _________________ 2013 Mancrush: DT Richardson, OT Joeckel, FS Vaccaro, FS Rambo, WR Dobson, RB Michael, TE McDonald, OT Foketi, WR Swope |

ok. after letting this draft thing digest in me like a medium pizza and 4 beers i'm ready to come out of hibernation. the one pick that really intrigues me the most is crawford. right now, he plays too high. he doesn't have great technique. he doesn't have much experience, and i don't expect much from him in the near future. BUT.....
this brotha has some CRAZY intangibles. his frame is only going to fill out more. and by watching richard seymour and having the coaches get this kid ready, i really feel like the sky is the limit for him. he has the motor. he has the athleticism. he has the strength and the power. he's just raw and needs to be molded. he's the perfect, roll the dice in the latter rounds type prospect that al would have taken in the second. he flashed alot at penn state so he is used to big time college football. and
after listening to his interview on sirius i am definitely excited to watch his growth. he's humble and he wants to put in the work. it's going to be fun to see what happens...... |

Being a Penn state guy, I really hope stupar and Crawford make the team. Crawford just needs to learn to play lower and stupar could be that nickel coverage linebacker we've been lacking. That was his thing at Penn until he became a full time starter as a senior. Both guys should take a year to adapt but I look for both to contribute in 2013, and stupar will a special teams Guy right off the bat. May even be a 3rd down LB as a rookie in place of curry or McClain seeing as both struggle in coverage. _________________

I couldn't tell watching buriss' highlights is he was good at pass rushing or if the blockers just sucked. I'm inclined to think the latter. I do hope that he can be a beast on the team however.
My favorite is the guard great pick and it will help solidify our young o-line. |
