Oh yes sorry typo. In other news Chargers camp starts today and Mario Henderson stopped off at McDonalds to get a few dozen Quarter Pounders.

Reggie wants to get this team solvent by ridding it of as many overpaid contracts as possible with as little impact. Lech is way overpaid.

He has been our one consistent player over the last 10 years though. I understand he is only special teams but you dont just get rid of him. If anything you sign a new deal or try to restructure. If he doesnt take the deal or do that then you start looking at other options. No way you just throw away a top 3 any player of all time.

That may be so. But like someone said $5M is way outta line for a punter. No matter how good your guy is. And if your defense is better and your offense is more consistent then you really don't need a guy like Lechler if he is soaking up that much of your cap space. It's one of those out of line contracts Reggie was talking about.

7 more FA signed. Along with another K/P.

The Raiders have signed free agents K/P Eddy Carmona, DE Wayne Dorsey, TE Kyle Efaw, T Kevin Haslam, CB LeQuan Lewis, FB TréShawn Robinson and WR Travionte Session.

Not only this, but King has immense potential, if we dumped Lechler atleast it would be for a kid with a very bright future instead of some average veteran scrub just to save money.

If NJB doesn't get drafted, he is my #1 priority in UDFA.

http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/2012-nfl-undrafted-free-agents

Players we have signed:

Marqutte King, P, Fort Valley State
Lucas Nix, OG, Pittsburgh
Derek Carrier, TE/WR, Beloit
Aaron Henry, S, Wisconsin
Dominique Hamilton, DT, Missouri
Chaz Powell, CB, Penn State
Thomas Mayo, WR, California (PA)
Brandon Carswell, WR, USC
Conroy Black, CB, Utah
Kaelin Burnett, DE/LB, Nevada
Darius Nall, DE/OLB, UCF
Mario Kurn, OLB, San Diego
Rod Streater, WR, Temple
Corey Gatewood, CB/WR, Stanford

You guys just got a hall of famer wide reciever. I played with this guy at Alfred State and he truly has worked his butt off to go from juco all the way to the nfl. He will be a starter on your squad.

Starter? Lets not get carried away.

Yes Starter. He has everything to be an amazing Wr. Just be patient and wait.

After watching King on Youtube, I can honestly say he has nothing on Lechler. I can't see any version of reality where he beats out Lechler on skill, not even close. Only way it happens will be strictly about money.

Not saying I agree/disagree, but I'm curious as to what makes you think that?

Lechler isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Well crap, with the McClain sentencing and likely suspension do we go after FA like Gary Bracket or EJ Henderson ?

I don't like the idea of moving Curry, not a fan of Goethal and definately don't want to put Stupar back there.

I know some are going to suggest bringing Blackstock back but I'd personally prefer Brackett despite his injury. Smart and controlled-he'd be a decent stopgap.

I think I'm officially over McClain.

Dang. I just watch 2 games of D2 California PA. And Thomas Mayo is a beast. This guy is big and smooth in his routes and when he gets his hands on the ball. I can't wait to see how he looks on this level. He certainly has the raw materials to make some plays.

I dont think anybody would suggest bringing back Blackstock. Hes pretty bad at LB. Pretty decent special teams player though.
