Donut described his skills perfectly... Is a very tough guy who has no problem whatsoever with going over the middle and risk getting smashed by a safety. He has no fear to him at all, and i am beyond stoked he signed with us. Hopefully he shows out in camp because i really think he is going to be a solid pro.
Could you imagine having Demaryius (6'4) Robinson (6'4) and Decker (6'3) all in the lineup? I am a realist so i'm not going expecting him to be a major contributor right away, but hopefully he lives up to his ridiculous potential. Low risk, very high reward signing here.
Little fact - Gerell Robinson had 13 catches for 241 yards and 1 TD against Boise State in the Maaco Bowl... |
I only watched what little I could find on youtube. He is no doubt a tough guy willing to go over the middle, which IMO gives strength to what I said about him being a slot receiver working the middle of the field and underneath routes, then using his size to get yards after the catch. That is mostly what I saw him used as in the little that I saw of him. Am I wrong? Did he actually line up on the outside a lot |
Your not wrong. ASU lined him up all over the field, and tried to find mismatches for him anyway they could considering he was basically they're only receiving threat... But in the NFL his strength will be on the outside. He is a possession WR a lot like Brandon Marshall. They're games compare a lot...
It's seriously ridiculous this guy went undrafted... Was #6 in the entire nation is receiving yards in 2011. Combine that production with being 6'4 and 220 lbs, and you have a player that could be a MAJOR sleeper. I watched ASU more than any other team this season, so i can honestly say i know his game very well. The guy is a stud.
I wonder if there is an injury concern i missed out on...? Because i am flabbergasted that he didn't get drafted. _________________

No the issue was it was a deep class. They didnt see him as being very athlete, though he helped his stock w/ his combine. He did much better than most thought. He has no potential to be a #1 he could be a #2 or a #3 or 4 WR. He was in the WR tier that was loaded w/ guys. _________________

Two reasons #1 - He is slow. 4.8 isn't good timed speed. #2 - Played in a spread offense so his stats are inflated. I like him, don't love him. |

You guys are going to love LB Steven Johnson. I'm a big Jayhawks fan and can tell you that he has one of the highest motors I've ever seen. The Kansas defense was one of the worst defenses in history and he still worked his [inappropriate/removed] off even though he knew he couldn't make a difference in the outcome of the games (we were consistently down by 30+). He's a tremendous leader and is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team. Should be a good special teamer for you guys if he gets a chance.
Hate that he ended up in Denver. _________________

Great to know! I don't know him but it would be pretty cool to have another UDFA from Kansas make the team. |

Duke Ihenacho's brother Carl is a depth LBer for the Raiders. Interesting family reunions in store.
I really like the look of Gerell Robinson, smooth route runner and elusive for his size. _________________

I like Robinson basically because we have Osweiler.
But I LOVE LOVE LOVE Coryell Judie. He's a very raw Champ clone. Have him learn for 2-3 years from the man himself and we have ourselves our next shutdown man _________________

Yeah, I wouldn't get your hopes up. It doesn't quite work like that. I'm gonna go ahead and doubt he even makes the team. _________________
