I know it probably happens every year, but one thing I noticed in this year's draft was the number of teams that picked multiple players from one school. I picked up on the following teams drafting multiple players from the following schools:

-Colts: Stanford. Pretty obvious with Luck and Fleener

-Vikings: Arkansas. Not sure how much they help the receiving corps, but I thought it was pretty neat to see MIN keep Wright and Childs together after they played together in elementary school, high school and college.

-Lions: Oklahoma. 3 of their picks were Sooners, as they drafted WR Broyles and LB's Ronnell and Travis Lewis.

-Giants: Virginia Tech. Drafted RB Wilson and CB Hosley

-Jets: Baylor. Took RB Ganaway and G Robert T. Griffin

-Dolphins: Univ of Miami. Nabbed RB Miller and DE Vernon from their backyard.

-Seahawks: Utah State. Drafted LB Wagner and RB Turbin

-Falcons: WIsconsin. Drafted C Konz and FB Ewing

Any others I missed?

LOL, look at the Vikings draft:

Kalil and Ellison from USC
Harrison Smith and Robert Blanton from ND
Jarius Wright and Greg Childs from Arkansas

We also have a thing with South Carolina players, and we drafted a guy from there too. Laughing

Spielman is so predictable when it comes to these schools.

Lions also signed S Sam Proctor as an UDFA from Oklahoma. I doubt he'll make the 53 though.

Colts also picked up Griff Whalen from Stanford. We went after Stanford this year like Polian used to go after Iowa players.

We also took another player from Iowa this year.

The Falcons drafted Peter Konz and Bradie Ewing from Wisconsin and also signed UDFA Louis Nzegwu.

We also signed James Rodgers brother of Jacquizz Rodgers (not both from this draft but had an influence nonetheless).

We also drafted Travian Robertson in the seventh and signed UDFA Marty Markett.

We also signed a UDFA who played under our OL coach in college at Fresno State named Bryce Harris.

this marks the 3rd consecutive season the Steelers drafted Florida teammates (Maurkice pouncey, Marcus Gilbert, Rianey) and we took Cam Heyward's teammate at OSU Mike Adams this season

I know, not the same year, but it's kinda similar to the OP. Razz

How much of it, do you think, is teams just wanting to make their top pick more comfortable? I mean the Jets drafted Scotty McKnight last year entirely because he is Sanchez's best friend.

Honestly forgot all about James Rodgers. Wish him the best but I doubt he sticks. He's just too small to play receiver and not that fast.

Good times though watching the Rodgers bros. at Oregon State.

Yeah, we have a WR position (maybe 2) open on our team, so he might have a chance if he proves himself. I really like some of our other UDFA WRs though.

Yep MN sure did.

Kalil and Ellison were blocking buddies at USC. There chemistry will continue in MN.

Blanton and Smith played together in the secondary of Notre Dame, however Blanton was a CB. Frazier has indicated that Blanton will play Safety. So Blanton and Smith could be one day starting opposite each other in deep halves in the Vikes Cover 2.

And of course, Childs and Wright. Childs could develop into a #1 or #2. Wright could develop into Harvin's backup, or into a vertical threat on the outside. Ideally, Childs becomes the #1, Wright the 3rd WR who lines up on the outside in 3 wide sets, and Harvin would be the #2 WR, who goes to the slot in 3 wide sets.

You left out Roy Helu, but that's not the point.

I'm not sure how important it is that we drafted an OL and a DB from both Iowa and SMU, but it is kind of interesting.
