Didn't like the OG Watkins, seems like a less athletic Incognito.

Watkins isn't remotely similar to Cogs.

It was my impression that Watkins played with unusual intensity, something rare for Rams linemen not named Incognito or Dahl.

I found this quote on a South Carolina University forum which may explain it.

"I'm sitting here watching a replay of the Clemson game. Clemson just gang tackled Kenny Miles for a loss with about 4 minutes to go in the first half. One of the Clemson players stood over him and started talking trash. Rok shoved him like he was a little kid. The CU player went flying backwards. Rok never took crap off of anyone and he wouldn't let anyone talk trash to our players. Especially Lattimore and our QBs. I hope he gets drafted and has a very long successful career in the NFL."

He plays more like Dahl than Incognito in that respect. He instigates and plays through the whistle but isn't dumb like Cogs was. He's intense but not bone-headed. Know what I mean?

As a player, though, he's just different than Cogs. Both are more run oriented OLs but Watkins is a more talented OG than Cogs imo. Cogs was more athletic in terms of foot speed but Watkins is bigger with longer arms, stronger and more heavy handed. Plus he just seems more natural and has better instincts.

Cogs was a solid player for us though when he wasn't committing bone-headed penalties.

Watkins is very effective once he latches onto an opponent. He plays to whistle and tries to destroy that guy, knock him down and jump on him. However, he is very slow, especially laterally.

Fisher rarely drafts the 340 lb players, especially when they are only 6'3. I think that is a positive for Watkins because Fisher saw him and still saw enough to pick him.

I hope you are right about him. I have my doubts.

Rok was playing out of position in college. If he played OG, I think he could have been a 3rd round pick.

These are all starters and future starters from this Rams draft

1) DT Brockers- no brainer. 6'4 330 lbs. Beast in the middle.
2) WR Quick - no brainer. 6'4 220 lbs and great athleticism
3) CB Jenkins - no brainer. Beast in the makings
4) RB Pead - not a 3 down back, but could spell SJax if needed
5) WR Givens - 4.3 speed, great routes and hands. Bradford already loves him
6) CB Johnson - future starter at CB or S
7) Punter - no brainer (forgot his name, lol)
Cool OG Watkins - mauler

all 8 will be starters at some point, with a few this year.

He isn't that slow laterally for a Guard. If you can, watch Jarvis Jones vs. SC. Watkins actually does a nice job sliding to keep Jones from beating him off the edge despite him playing at OT against one of the best edge rushers in the 2013 class. He's much better off at Guard where he has acceptable lateral quickness and feet.

Plus he's 6'4" and has very long arms.

I love the Packers' draft. It has a legitimate chance to be one of, if not the best Ted Thompson drafts (aside from Rodgers).

I loved the Vikings draft; calling the Kalil, Smith, and Robinson picks before they happened.

Of course, my track record with prospects is sketchy, especially in the secondary. So I'm a little bit worried that trend continues. Laughing

Yes!!!!!

Getting DeCastro in the 1st was a win for me.

No complaints about Adams in the 2nd either.

Not sure about the Spence pick. We'll see how that plays out.

Like Ta'Amu in the 4th

Rainey was nice in the 5th.

I know I'm really late to this party, but had I been asked right after the draft, I would have posted the same thing; a resounding yes. The Eagles chose prospects equally between factors of need and BPA. I love what they did.

Now to choose my favorite pick is difficult, but I would say it's a tie between Mychal Kendricks and Brandon Boykin.

Everyone is satisfied with their draft, but if someone posted this exact draft as a mock ~25 teams would be pissed.

The Lions got a real hit or miss draft IMO.

Reiff- one of the only exceptions to hit or miss because I dont think he'll miss.

Broyles- If healthy could be a huge hit, if not then a miss

Bentley- Could earn the starting spot, or could get lost on the depth chart

Tahir Whitehead- Special Teams player to start, but has to earn everything after that

Jonte Green- ^^^

Chris Greenwood- ^^^^^^

Ronnell THE HAMMA Lewis- ^^^^^^^^^

Travis Lewis- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Me especially Laughing Passing on DeCastro and Konz for Wright and Brown, I'd straight lose it.

There is no way I could have gotten even 25% of every team's packs correctly, but FWIW, I had the Eagles getting Cox, Kendricks and Boykin in the first 3 rounds of mock I completed 6 weeks prior to the draft.

But yeah, I agree with your post. And that's what makes the draft so exciting, as it is impossible to predict.

Id be pissed with the first pick because we didnt trade back, but be good with the rest of the Chiefs draft.
