His measurables are 1st round caliber at his position. He showed he could step up in the after season games. And if they learn he cannot turn and run with Wr's he is bigger and faster than Spivey.
I realize is a complete boom/bust player. I think he is boom so thats who I am picking
In fact I rank them in this order
Greenwood
Reiff
R.Lewis
Broyles
Bentley
T.Lewis
Green
Whitehead
After reading all I can the only player I dont think has a roll Is whitehead. And I still have no clue why we traded a pick away to overdraft the kid |
Thanks. I don't know enough about him. It would be great to have someone step up and be a player in the secondary. _________________

Greenwood has very good measurable. Size, quickness, raw potential. He needs work on his technique. I think he has the highest ceiling among the defenders the Lions drafted. The question is if he'll reach that ceiling. I don't think they'll do much his rookie season though. I hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see him pan out at CB.
I do think he's too valuable to the Lions to risk putting on the practice squad though. After the Murtha mugging year one by the Dolphins, the Lions have been leary about putting guys on there that they really like. He'll make the roster. I just don't know how active he'll be. The other guys are more NFL ready right now than Greenwood is. |

I think Broyles is going to be the most productive but I think Ronnell Lewis has some major upside. He will IMO be Zach Follet on special teams and will be a productive depth/rotational DE/LB. _________________

Ronnell Lewis. Reiff won't even be a starter to begin with most likely(though I hope he is)
Rookie receivers have a hard enough time acclimating to the NFL off the top usually, much less to be buried on a depth chart and be coming off a major injury.
Coming from a reasonably small school, I think it will take time for Bentley to acclimate.
As I go down the line, we rotate Dlineman ALOT. And it will likely be ROnnell's job to pin his ears back and smack the QB in the mouth. So if he does that about 3-5 times, I think that will be a larger overall impact than the rest of the rooks. _________________

I don't expect to see Ronnell in games at all, unless he sees some time at OLB, or we have a couple of injuries at DE. _________________ Are you getting Ziggy with it? |

You know, people have talked about it and I've dismissed it, but with some of these players the Lions have drafted recently, I wouldn't be shocked to see Gunther put in a few 3-4 looks on defense just to mix it up.
DE- Ndamukong Suh
NT- Sammie Lee Hill
DE- Nick Fairley/KVB
OLB- Cliff Avril
ILB- Justin Durant
ILB- Stephen Tulloch
OLB- Ronnell Lewis |

As much as we rotate our Dlineman, I could easily see Ronnell getting 8-10 snaps a game. Meaning he will be really fresh, and his only job will be to expend as much energy as possible to get to the QB. I could see it working out very well for him. And I could also see him behind only Cliffy, KVB, and LoJack by the end of the year. _________________

I'm not saying we switch up our entire defense. We're still going to play wide-9 in the 4-3 the majority of time. But we have seen them do a couple 3-4 looks over the past two seasons. Suh actually played LB in a couple of those looks, most well known against the Patriots on Thanksgiving when he sacked Brady.
Bringing in Ronnell Lewis who is almost a clone of Avril (as a prospect), when both projected as better 3-4 OLB than 4-3 DEs, give us some different looks to play with. |

I always hope to see some more 34 looks, but never do. I will say though, I don't think we had the personnel at OLB to do it. Lewis could be that missing piece. _________________

Good do brother
No, I didn't forget about him. I like him and all, but I really feel he gets criminally overrated around here just because as Lions fans we are not used to a 7rd pick being productive. _________________

Most reports I have read on tahir Whitehead also have said he is more of a 3-4 rush linebacker. It will be a transition for him on the outside in a 4-3 but they liked his athletic ability and knowledge of the game. i could definitely see us running some 3-4 with Lewis and Whitehead both able to rush the passer or drop back. _________________
