Homer pick: Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

But then again...he may not even start.

He tore it up in the spring game and played better than Bennett. He looks like a faster Colin Kaepernick. He's also throws the ball better at this point in his carerr than Kaepernick did.

Non-Michigan picks:

Washington State WR Marquess Wilson - Already a very good/great WR, but he will have a Crabtree-like impact in Mike Leach's system.

Notre Dame RB/KR George Atkinson III - Brian Kelly will do himself a great disservice if he doesn't find a way to get this kid 15~ touches a game. Very explosive.

Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier - Kid has all the makings to be one of the best LB's in college football, will only be a sophomore, so it may take him some time, but the kid is a missile.

Northwestern QB Kain (sp?) Colter - Mr. Do Everything last year (QB, WR, I think some RB). Will take over for Dan Persa as the full time QB.

I watched ND's spring game and he stood out. Had great vision and speed and caught the ball well. He had 2 fumbles and needs to fix that. Kelly will have to find a way to get him involved. ND has plenty of weapons on offense with Wood, Atkinson, Eifert, Riddick, if they could only find a QB to put it all together.

Curtis McNeal, RB, USC
Finished last season with 1,005 rushing yards and he really broke out at during the second half of last season. (114 ypg, last 7 games) He'll be the feature back for the Trojans next season and should be among the leaders in rushing yards in the Pac-12.

I don't know enough about other teams to name other under the radar stars, so I'll name a few for Virginia Tech.

Marus Davis, WR
He'll be Logan Thomas's top target this year, so he'll probably put up big numbers and make a name this year. He's played in the shadow of Danny Coale and Jarrett Boykin for a while, so this year will be his coming out party. He's also big bodied at 6'4.

Kyle Fuller, S
He's the younger brother of former Hokie and NFL player, Vincent Fuller. He's also got another brother, Kendall Fuller, a top recruit, who the Hokies could land.

James Gayle, DE
Will probably be the Hokies top pass rusher this year. Played well last year before being sidelined by a injury.

They said that last year too.

Rumor is all the lb's behind Clay and Alonso need some work. There will be trouble if one gets an injury or off season incident

Allen Robinson looks poised to excel in this offense

Nationally:

Zac Stacy & Warren Norman (Vandy), Alex Carder (WMU), Brandon Joiner (Ark State), Ryan Shazier, I guess people consider Marquess Wilson to be under the radar despite being the PAC 12's best WR, so him, Travis Johnson (SJSU), & Taylor Lewan should take a big step this year.

ICE, I can't believe you didn't say this guy:

Honestly, don't be shocked if Silas Redd is a Heisman finalist this season. He was held back big time by the previous offensive coaching staff (or lack thereof) at PSU, a terrible strength program, and awful OL as a result. Redd is the most talented RB in the B1G and with a new staff, strength program, and better OL in front of him, look for him to seriously break out big time.

My favorite thing about the Bobcats jerseys is that they have the Athens bricks on the shoulders. If any of you have been to Athens, you know what I'm talking about.

Halloween is legendary in Athens. One of the most fun weekends I ever had when we ventured down there back when I lived in Ohio.

Trust me, my man, I know. I've had many drunken nights down in Athens. My buddy used to live in Nelsonville, which is about 10 minutes from Athens. Actually celebrated my 22nd birthday during Halloween down there.

Not at all. Those bricks are square while the bricks on the Bobcats jerseys look more like normal rectangular bricks.

If you tilt your head, it works.

EDIT: Nevermind, they'd still be squares then.
