Draft:
Round 1:
1. Cleveland Browns - Matt Barkley, QB
If the Browns are picking first it probably means Brandon Weeden sucks. Barkley looks like he will be the first overall pick next year.
2. Arizona Cardinals - Logan Thomas, QB
If the Cardinals are picking this high it probably means they will move on from Kevin Kolb/John Skelton.
3. St. Louis Rams - Robert Woods, WR
Brian Quick may not be enough help for Sam Bradford. The Rams could be looking for more help in 2013.
4. Indianapolis Colts - Marcus Lattimore, RB
If Lattimore can fully recover from his injury, he could be a top 10 pick. If he can't he will go a lot lower than this. Lattimore reminds me of Adrian Peterson, more so than Trent Richardson.
5. Miami Dolphins - Barkevious Mingo, DE/OLB
The Dolphins could look for help rushing the passer. Mingo could end up being the first defensive player taken.
6. Minnesota Vikings - Tyler Wilson, QB
If the Vikings are picking this high it may mean the end of the Christian Ponder era in Minnesota.
7. Oakland Raiders - David Amerson, CB
The Raiders could look to take someone like David Amerson if they are picking in the top 10 next year. They miss out on the top 3 QB's in this draft, but I'm not sure they are ready to move on from Carson Palmer yet. They could take Amerson because they haven't had a presence at CB since Asomugha left.
8. St. Louis Rams (From Washington) - Eric Reid, S
Safety may addressed in 2013 by St. Louis. Eric Reid could end up moving up the boards similarly to Mark Barron. The LSU/Alabama defenses will continue to produce a lot of first round pick next year.
9. Buffalo Bills - Star Lotulelei, DE/DT/NT
The Bills could look to take someone like Star Lotulelei. He has to potential to be a similar player to Haloti Ngata.
10. Carolina Panthers - Sam Montgomery, DE
The Panthers haven't had a presence at the DE position since Julius Peppers left. They could look for a new DE in 2013.
11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Jarvis Jones, DE
The Bucs may be looking for another LB or a CB but if someone like Jarvis Jones is on the board, they might consider taking him. Da'Quan Bowers can't stay healthy so DE is a need again.
12. Tennessee Titans - Jackson Jeffcoat, DE
The Titans were thought to be looking for a DE in 2012, but didn't take one until the late rounds.
13. Cincinnati Bengals - Bjoern Werner, DE
This draft is loaded with pass rushers if they all declare so a lot of teams could take these types of players. The Bengals are one of them.
14. Jacksonville Jaguars - Keenan Allen, WR
The Jaguars took Blackmon but he may not be enough for Gabbert. If they are picking in the mid teens it probably means that Gabbert still has a job as their starter which means they could take another year to provide him with weapons.
15. Kansas City Chiefs - Landry Jones, QB
If the Chiefs miss the playoffs again it's obvious the QB position needs to be upgraded. Luckily for them one of the first round QBs is still on the board for them.
16. Seattle Seahawks - Justin Hunter, WR
The Seahawks could be looking for another receiver. They don't have too many great options there. I still think Hunter may go back.
17. Chicago Bears - D. J. Fluker, OT
The Bears still lack a true left tackle. It's one of the most important positions in football so they may want to think about changing that.
18. New Orleans Saints - Barrett Jones, OL
The Saints have a lot of off the field issues right now so I think they could take a step back next year. They don't have a ton of needs but could look for help on the offensive line. Jones offers some versatility as he can probably play any position on the o-line.
19. Dallas Cowboys - Tyrann Mathieu, CB/S
The Cowboys barely miss the playoffs in my mock season. They could look to pair Mathieu with his former teammate. Mathieu might also be able to play safety if he doesn't transition well to CB in the NFL.
20. New York Jets - William Gholston, DE/OLB
Jets fans will probably shudder at the thought of their team picking someone named Gholston. Sorry Jets fans. They were thought to be looking at a rush linebacker in round one but passed for a d-lineman. They could instead grab one in 2013.
21. San Diego Chargers - Xavier Rhodes , CB
Quinton Jammer is starting to get up there in age so they may look for CB depth and someone to eventually take over.
22. San Francisco 49ers - Dee Milliner, CB
The 49ers probably won't have too many needs but could be looking for depth in the secondary.
23. Houston Texans - C.J. Mosley, LB
The Texans traded DeMeco Ryans so they may look for his replacement in 2013.
24. Atlanta Falcons - Tyler Eifert, TE
The Falcons could look for Tony Gonzales's replacement in the 2013 draft.
25. Pittsburgh Steelers - Manti Te'o, LB
The Steelers could look to take an LB in the 2013 draft. They were often linked to Dont'a Hightower in 2012.
26. Detroit Lions - Alex Okafor, DE
The Lions could look to upgrade their pass rush in 2013. They always like to reload their d-line.
27. Baltimore Ravens - Marquess Wilson, WR
The Ravens offense needs some more help and they could look for a WR in 2013. They took one in 2013, but not until the later rounds.
28. New York Giants - Jake Matthews, OT
The Giants could look for offensive line help in 2013.
29. Denver Broncos - Johnathan Hankins, DT/NT
The Broncos could look for another DT in the 2013 draft.
30. Philadelphia Eagles - Chris Faulk, OT
The Eagles could look for another OT if Jason Peters can't return to full health.
31. Green Bay Packers - Johnthan Banks, CB
The Packers could look for a CB in the 2013 draft. Charles Woodson is nearing the end of his career, surprisingly. They took Casey Hayward in 2012 but they might look for another CB.
32. New England Patriots - Kwame Geathers, DT/NT
The Pats addressed a lot of defensive holes in 2012 but didn't do much for the defensive line.
Round 2:
33. Cleveland Browns - Terrance Williams, WR
The Browns missed out on Kendall Wright in 2012 but might end up with this Baylor WR instead.
34. Minnesota Vikings - Da'Rick Rogers, WR
The Vikings need help at the WR position. They don't have many great options and need to provide whoever their QB is with more help.
35. Arizona Cardinals - Luke Joeckel, OT
The Cardinals could be looking for an OT to protect their new QB.
36. St. Louis Rams - Ricky Wagner, OT
The Rams have a lot of pick so they can address a lot of positions. If they are going to take an OT in 2013 it will probably be in round one, but they may wait until round 2. This draft has a few quality round 1-2 OT's so they are still getting good talent here.
37. Indianapolis Colts - Khaled Holmes, C
The Colts could look for their next Jeff Saturday in the 2013 draft. Holmes and Luck would be a great pair for the next 15 years.
38. Miami Dolphins - Tony Jefferson, S
There's a lot of safety depth in the 2013 draft so the Dolphins could have their pick. They will probably take one of them.
39. Buffalo Bills - Geno Smith, QB
The Bills might look to take a QB in the 2013 draft if they are picking in the top 10 again. If they pass on the round 1 QBs they may look at someone like Geno Smith in round 2.
40. Cincinnati Bengals (From Oakland) - Jelani Jenkins, LB
The Bengals traded Keith Rivers so they could look for his replacement in the 2013 draft.
41. Washington Redskins - Cobi Hamilton, WR
They need to provide RGIII with weapons. They could look for a WR with their 2nd round pick in 2013.
42. Carolina Panthers - Bennie Logan, DT
The Panthers need a DT. With Logan and Mongtomery their D-line would be potent.
43. Cincinnati Bengals - Knlie Davis, RB
Everyone thought the Bengals would address the RB position earlier than round 6 in 2012. They may look to do so here. If Knile Davis can stay healthy he could in this range.
44. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Robert Lester, S
The Bucs have a few needs on the defense. One of the needs is a safety next to Mark Barron since Ronde Barber isn't a long term solution. They also need a CB and a ILB so they could go with one of those here too.
45. Tennessee Titans - Carrington Byndom, CB
The Titans could look for CB depth in the 2013 draft.
46. Kansas City Chiefs - Montee Ball, RB
The Chiefs may be looking for another RB since Jamaal Richardson will be coming off an injury this upcoming season and its unclear how he will return.
47. Jacksonville Jaguars - Margus Hunt, DE
The Jaguars could look for pass rushing help in the 2013 draft. I would have mocked them a DE in round 1 if Keenan Allen didn't fall to them.
48. Chicago Bears - Kawann Short, DT
The Bears could be looking for a DT in the 2013 draft.
49. Seattle Seahawks - Sean Porter, DE/OLB
The Seahawks could still use one more linebacker to complete their LB corps.
50. Dallas Cowboys - Wes Horton, DE/OLB
The Cowboys could be looking to reload their pass rush in 2013.
51. New York Jets - Oday Aboushi, OT
The Jets could be looking for a OT to play opposite of Ferguson.
52. San Diego Chargers - Cyril Richardson, OL
The Chargers have had trouble staying healthy on the o-line in years past. They may look for o-line depth in 2013 to try to stay healthy there.
53. San Francisco 49ers - T.J. McDonald, S
Again the 49ers don't have a lot of needs but the secondary is one area that needs help. T.J. McDonald could go higher than this but there are a lot of good safeties in this draft.
54. Houston Texans - Johnny Adams, CB
The Texans could look for a CB to play opposite of Jonathan Joseph if no one steps up.
55. Atlanta Falcons - Brandon Jenkins, DE
The Falcons took a DE in round 5 of the 2012 draft but could be looking for more help in 2013.
56. Pittsburgh Steelers - Desmond Trufant, CB
The Steelers could look for safety depth in 2013.
57. Detroit Lions - Micah Hyde, CB
The Lions took a CB in round 3 in 2012 but may need more help than that. They could target one in 2013 as well.
58. Baltimore Ravens - Ray Ray Armstrong, S
The Ravens most likely won't have a lot of needs again. They might look for safety depth and an eventual replacement for Ed Reed.
59. New York Giants - Gerald Hodges, LB
Linebacker wasn't addressed in the 2012 draft so it may need to be in 2013.
60. Denver Broncos - Eddie Lacy, RB
The Broncos took Ronnie Hillman in the 2012 draft, but John Fox likes having multiple RBs. By the 2013 draft Willis McGahee will probably be done and Knoshown Moreno might not be on the team anymore because he's not very good. They could look to take another RB in 2013. Eddie Lacy is the next Alabama running back to come out.
61. Philadelphia Eagles - Kevin Riddick, LB
The Eagles took a LB in 2012 but one more may be needed.
62. Green Bay Packers - Jonathan Cooper, OG
The Packers don't have a lot of needs but could use some interior o-line depth.
63. New England Patriots - Nico Johnson, LB
The Patriots continue to rebuild their defense. They took Hightower in 2012 but the Pats may look for another LB in 2013. _________________

honestly, I have no idea who the Falcons would need. MLB could be a need if Dent doesn't work out. _________________

I dont really see CB/S as a need as of now. I think OLB, DE and RB are needs but that could easily change 12 months from now _________________

Titans have zero need at CB. We picked up Coty Sesabaugh in the 4th and we already have 2 starters in McCourty and Verner. At this point our needs are center, RG, and SS. Also doubt we do that bad unless we get detailed with injuries. _________________

Tough schedule and a young team
I'd personally like to have Mathieu, you can never have enough DB's in a evolving passing game. _________________

lol, Flynn can't be worse than Tavaris and we were a 7 win team last year.

Flynn can be a lot worse than Tavaris. Just because you won 7 games last year doesn't mean anything for next year. Look at the Colts. Anything can happen.
So next time you try bashing my mock because your team is most likely going to suck next year...
Try again. _________________

Try again. | Did you ever watch Tavaris play, there is absolutley no way a QB can suck as much as he did.
The Colts argument is invalid, Peyton made that team and their GM failed to fill needs over the time Peyton was there. We can win games with our defense and our QB not contributing. The Colts didn't have the luxury of their defense stepping up. _________________

Okay, I'll try again for him. You state that Flynn is a "product of the system", yet he's going to a nearly identical system in Seattle from the one he grew accustomed to in Green Bay. We have one of the better RBs in the league and found a way to win 7 games with arguably the worst starting QB in the league. How? Because our defense was top 5 against the run and top 10 against the pass when our current starters played.
You say look at Indy. Indy had one of the worst run and pass defenses last year along with a pretty mediocre crop of RBs and TEs.
The only way we're the worst team in the league is if you think Matt Flynn is Curtis Painter bad. And even then I don't know if it's reasonable considering how much better our defense is. And as far as our "recent draft history" we've selected 3 impactful starters in the 1st round in Pete Carroll's first two years in Russell Okung, Earl Thomas, and James Carpenter. The unnecessary bash at the end is, well, just that.....unnecessary.
Anyways, since it's your mock I'll pretend like we are the worst team and work from there. If that's the case, Barkley is a reasonable selection because it obviously means Flynn didn't produce.
Not that it matters for the sake of this mock, but I think we'll realistically be finishing in the late teens, and with the way your draft falls I would probably prefer Tyler Eifert just because we are a team that doesn't have many needs. Jonathan Banks would also be a solid pick there.
PS: I love Trufant, but there's no way he ends up as a 1st round pick next year. Way too inconsistent in coverage. _________________

Fair enough. The Seahawks like Russell Wilson too and I wouldn't be surprised if he's the starter at some point during the season. If that's the case then they might take a step back. I agree your defense is better than the Colts was, but someone has to lose the games. It's incredibly difficult to predict how a future season will play out, but this is just one way I think it could go. As far as the bashing at the end, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with their drafting techniques or the players they draft, I'm just saying they take players that a lot of us have ranked lower than they do. If it works out for them, then that's perfect, I just know if I was their GM, I may have gone a different direction with a few of the picks. _________________

With that said, I didn't mean to come in here do the typical "no way is my team the worst in the league" crap. So I apologize for that.
I actually came in here hoping someone would have a 2013 mock up and I appreciate that you had one! You're never going to make everyone happy with these types of things so I'll just grade it based off of the player we pick where you have us slotted.
And Barkley is perfect for us if we're at #1 overall. _________________

At this point DT could possibly be addressed in the first round next year. Other positions I would be fine with would be RG (Konz will play there this year, but will move to C when McClure retires), but it seems more and more teams are finding quality OGs in rounds 2-5. Also we could need a LB or RB in the first just to name other options. DT would work though. _________________
